My goals are to host a crafting night at my house each month (gives me good reason to make the place spotless and cook up some goodies and stamp, of course) and to participate in a recipe swap each quarter. I'd also like to stay current on Stamp to Spend 2009 ... is it bad that I'm stocking up on Copics BEFORE 2009 starts just so it doesn't count Ha ha.
Wow, I am so impressed and inspired by what I'm reading from everyone this morning. I'll try to list out a few things I'd like to achieve in 2009:
Clean and organize my craft room- especially the ribbon which has gravitated to the entire second story of my home.
Complete a SU cs sample ring. Three are started, 0 got finished.
When I create a card, make 2 of them. I am getting good enough that these turn out so now I can have the confidence to create 2, one to go out and one for my stash.
Begin to scrapbook again. I am so in love with card making and the instant gratification you get from that I have not touched a book in 2 years. I know my DD would love to help me work on these.
Get a birthday card out to my entire family (they live far away from me) this year. Check out this list: 2 parents, 9 siblings + spouses, 23 nieces/nephews. On my in-law side- MIL, 3 SIL's, FIL + spouse, 1 brand new nephew.
Have a stash of Sympathy, Get Well, New Baby cards. I usually am good on birthdays.
Get involved with at least 2 philanthropies this year who could benefit in some way from receiving my cards. I have one ID'd already for a January event and I'd like to provide cards for a local oncologist office where a friend works as a nurse.
As you can see, I am trying to channel my hobby/obsession so that the world benefits in some small way. If I could find a way to burn more calories as I sit on my b_ T _ and make these cards life would truly be golden. I gotta lose 25 for a June wedding! Enough said. Let's make it a great year in our little crafting community.
This year I want to finish my craft room. I purchased shelving units, etc. at IKEA a year and a half ago and it is still in boxes. I am determined, but I cannot figure out what to do with all of my "stuff" while I am trying to create my room. Any suggestions?
My goal is to start doing some project and albums for myself. I really don't do that very often. So anyway, I've only been scrapping for a year and would love to go through all my dd's pics and do an album a year for her. She is now 17 so I would say I have my work cut out for me.
* Blog more often.
* Use all of the stamps I have collected at least once.
* Get all birthday/occasion cards finished well in advance of the date.
* Use the stash I've hoarded before adding more to it...
* Stick to a crafting budget.
* Get at least one of my planned special projects completed.
1. Replenish my card stash and try to make more "masculine" cards
2. Finish quilting projects that are half done....I have several tops that deserve to be quilted, either by me or someone else. THis alone will probably take me at least 6 months.
3. Organize my studio....man, between the quilt fabric and sewing machines and the cardstock, punches, embellies, ribbon, it's a disaster. The place looks like a fabric/paper bomb hit it, and I REALLY need to reorganize and PURGE stuff I don't use.
4. Use my time off from work (summer--I'm a teacher) more productively. I tend to waste time....but I did make all of my Christmas cards last summer and I definitely want to do that again.
5. Make more Christmas presents--I bought too many this year.

Wow!!! You guys are very impressive!!! So many good ideas!!! I am making a list, and will try to do some of them!
* Make more masculine cards
* Find a good home/charity for my cards
* Clean up my craft room. (Least desirable, but needs to be done)
Will see how it goes............
Thanks for the encouraging lists!!

I would like to make more greeting cards than normal and I would like to learn how to make my own jewellery, etc. Start using my stamps alot more on my cards. Also I would like to start printing my digital scrapbooking pages that that I have done this year.
My goals !
(after moving house and country! Gibraltar (hanging off the bottom of Spain, 12 miles from Africa) to Central London, UK, with 4 young children and a hubby)
is to:
1. Get the house organised QUICKLY!.
2. Get my dedicated crafting space set up properly.
3. Using my stash of cards (I have been working towards this already! I hate giving them away after all the effort I have gone to to make them nice!)
4. Start Stampin' Up - the UK has only really just started with this so there is a market to be had!
5. Build up my stash of 'to sell' cards and be selling at Craft Fayres by next Christmas' Fayres.
6. Be actually making a few pennies from my work!
7. Scrapbook more... I take tonnes of photos!
8. Stamp more (Stampin' Up may come in handy with this one )
9. Be less intimidated by other peoples wonderful creations and think - I CAN DO THAT!
I would like to learn how to make my own jewellery
I have not started to make jewellery - yet! We had a lovely demo a few weeks back at the craft club I run from a lady who showed us how to make a little Santa head, Angel and a Christmas Tree. She also brought examples of what she does, makes rings, necklaces etc from Swarovski crystals.
Then how she uses them in projects. You can see what she showed us here. The Santa heads she makes into earrings for Christmas sales.
What a great evening, everyone learned something and it was requested we buy in beading supplies! People like beading and jewellery!
I cannot wait to branch out from my little Christmas items, but as you see from my last post - it will have to wait just a little while In fact - add that as number 10, lol!
My children already make their own jewellery from beads, charms etc, perhaps they can teach me too!
my goal is use all i have acquired over the years and months ~ to try new things (boxes and gifts) and learn one new technique that i shy away from until it's perfected.
long laundry list, but if this year goes as fast as last year, than i won't accomplish it all ! LOL
happy new year!

Mary Rose,
I made a high school graduation gift scrapbook for my son in two weeks, without any experience or classes. I did go to a scrapbook shop and bought all the supplies, it was expensive to get all at once, but well worth it. However I did organize my pictures, and by doing that, I could put the scrapbook together pretty fast. Of course all my extra time went into the project, but it really turned out nice! I had zillions of compliments on it, especially from my son's high school friends (the girls especially).
He really liked it too! So no matter when you start, you can get it done! I would love to do one now that I have some great tools and supplies!! I do have a son in his junior year, and need to start on that! I am not a scrapbooker like I am a cardmaker, but scrapbooks can be rather fun, when you dedicate the time to them! The supplies are really fun too, just as in card making as we all know all too well--LOL!!

Oh I could go on!
Good for you for becoming a demonstrator! Good luck on your move.
2. Do my own stamp/exercise to spend challenge. I won't "sign up" or keep it in my signature though. I want to do $1/card and $1/minute of exercise.
3. Make my SU perpetual calendar, fill it out with birthdays etc and send those cards out!
4. Mail more cards out
5. Start making 2 of each that I make, one to send and one to keep, they're my babies
6. Pay off my stamp debt. I have about $2 k in debt from buying too much stamp stuff since August. Gotta get that down...That won't be an all year thing. I also have dedicated funds going to that so it should be paid off by March.
7. Stop spending money on my hobby BEFORE I make it. Only spend the money once it's in my account
There may be more, but that's it for now.

Ok my goal is to:
complete the 2 albums I have that are half done
Only buy things that I know EXACTLY what they are going to be used for (no more one day I might use it- casue it sits there collecting dust)
Journal more on my scrap pages
Build a card "stock" pile so I can grab one when I am in a pinch
Learn more fancy stuff (like altering)
My goals are to:
not to be just a hobby SU Demonstrator
put a dent in my designer paper (this could take years)
use all of my stamp sets and finally open the recipe one and make a gift for my mother with all of my grandmothers recipes in it
keep my stamping room clean
make atleast 5 christmas cards a month
get pregnant!
I like the idea of trying to use each stamp at least once! Great idea. Hmmm, I have a hoading problem too
I think the fact that we are crafters lends us naturally to hoarding lol. I usually end up being just a collector because I am a single mom and I work and go to school. But only 3 more semesters left lol. Woohoo.
My goal is to establish a card stash.... I have tried this before and have failed! I just want to be able to grab an appropriate card when I need one and not have to resort to purchasing one instead. (especially "get well" and "sympathy" ones.

Getting pregnant is on my list too, it's the ultimate craft, look I made a whole human being!

Good for you about the school! I hope you make it. THat is so great. I have one semester yet but not a mother yet so it is easier on my end probably.

Well for 2009 I'll be a full time nursing student which means scrappin will be done rarely here, but I guess my goal should be to do at least scrapbook 2 pages a month - yeah it's gonna be that hard! - and to be happy with whatever I whip up! Thats why I'm trying so hard right now to get a whole book done before I have no free time!
I am organizing my stamping and scrapping stuff!!! I am moving in March so I need to have it done by then, but its such a mess right now that I don't even want to touch it...and I don't even use any of the new stuff I have. Other than that, just trying to send out at least one RAK a month and keeping up with swaps and cardmaking. I just got a Cricut too, so trying out new projects with that!
1. Re-organize my stamp room and KEEP it organized. I am planning on leaving enough time at the end of my crafting sessions to put things back where they belong so that I am not always constantly searching for things.
2. Stock up on my occasion cards and keep them organized by theme so that I can use them or sell them easily. I have started doing this by organizing my cards on my floor standing card rack.
3. Scrapbook at least one day each month. I am working on getting together a scrapbooking group in my area that can come over and use my Big Shot, inks, stamps and punches while we all scrapbook. I have a couple of large rooms to set up tables and can fit up 12 scrapbookers giving them each a 2 foot space to work in (very important). I would like to complete TWO 12x12 scrapbooks, an 8.5 x 8.5 and a 6x6 this year.
4. Use up some of the patterened paper that I have. I have a tendency to order packages of paper, use what I like out of it and then don't get excited about using up the rest of the paper. I am going to focus on using the extra paper on cards, gift or 3D items and as accents on my scrapbook pages!
