Default **HELP** - How to mark the customs slip????

Hi, I was wondering how to mark the customs slip if sending a FS item to canada from the US. You know, the part where you put if it's a gift or something else (little check boxes)? Which box do i mark?

Mark it as a gift. There is less chance that the person who you are sending it to will get dinged by customs then. Also, I generally put a lower amount on the slip than what it is actually worth. Generally if you put $20 or less, you don't get charged at customs. JMHO!

Actually, you are better off marking it as merchandise and using a value of about $14 USD. This way it's under the required $20 CAD and Customs won't think you are trying to mark a purchase as a gift.

The last time I was at the post office they wouldn't let me mark gift. Even though they saw what was inside. They said they won't accept gift anymore. I don't see how that can be right. but that is what I was told.
