I don't think there is anything I want that I would pay more than catalog original price. And if I were selling I wouldn't ask more than that either. Most times I either take my unwanted sets and offer them to my stamping friends for free or drop them off at the local thrift store that is run by a Christian school.
Ok, so I was just telling my DH about this (bless his heart for listening to all my stamp talk, hehe) and he totally said I should tell you about my cousin! Which totally made me laugh and think, hmmmm....maybe this is him selling it, hahaha!
Because.....my cousin is kind of a ding dong and this is really kind of sad but really kind of funny and the seller and him could be friends. A couple of months ago we were at my mom's town where he lives and were driving around when we went by his house. Well, he was trying to sell his truck (which he had wrecked and totally messed up) and he had a sign out. Well we drove by and my mom said, "oh my gosh, I think it said for sale $1200.00 or BETTER OFFER!!!!!" LOL! The guys said no way but I said oh he would totally thing OBO means that! So, I made them turn around and sure enough, it said or better offer! LOL! Yes, someone is going to give you MORE money than you are asking for for your piece of trash truck! Oy!
What's sad is that he had NO clue nor did anyone else at his house including his father! So see, this seller and him could totally be friends!
And geez....this seller is beyond ridiculous!!!!!
Sounds like your cousin was looking for OIEO (offers in excess of). I have seen many things listed that way over the years.
My favorite story was when we were looking to buy our first home and offered their asking price and they came back that they had another offer and would we like to raise ours. We said no and resubmitted the same offer. The agent even asked us if we were withdrawing our offer and we said no. At that point it was a matter of principle. They were still in that house six months later and we found a larger house for less in the same neighborhood. KARMA!!!
No bids yet when I just checked but at least the prices are better. I didn't read descriptions but as long as she tells the truth, she can ask what she wants. Wonder what happened to the note that said she would be closing her eBay account at the end of the week?
Sure hope she buys a better camera w/all that she's gonna make on those auctions...lol lol lol...her photos are awful..
I just read where she's closing her account...strange...
I love Halloween, I love older stamp sets, but I wouldn't even pay $25 for this particular set... PLUS - anyone who tells me to "bid or don't bid, but don't watch" can stick it where the sun don't shine - that's part of what ebay IS, for cryin' out loud! I've had five of the same stamp set on my watch list to see which one was going higher and which one wasn't getting bids and all of that - that's how you know which one YOU want to bid on! She's obviously completely unclear on the concept...
I know it is tacky but I might have to watch for her and start watching just because. :p
At least her other stamp auctions seem to be more reasonably priced. And the utter rudeness to state to either bid or not but no more watchers? Does this seller have a regular day job and just not care about actually selling her things?

Reason: SPR
I had a TON of beanie babies (probably still do somewhere between my house and my dad's) and my MIL has HUNDREDS in her basement that she and her youngest used to collect and now which she tries to send home with her hoarder step-grandaughter (she's 4 and totally a hoarder in training, lol) much to the mother's chagrin. Maybe she should list them on eBay, lol!!!!
