I love being home during the day and getting to play in the challenges !! If all of you would write to the Governor of Michigan and ask her to pass an early out retirement bill I would be so happy !
I had to share this poem. God forbid you ever know anyone who loses a child, you could use this in a card. This is the most comforting poem I have received over the years. I think it is touching...
Little Angels
When God calls little children
to dwell with Him above,
We mortals sometimes question
the wisdom of His love.
For no heartache compares with
the death of one small child
Who does so much to make our world
seem wonderful and mild.
Perhaps God tires of calling
the aged to His fold,
So He picks a rosebud
before it can grow old
God knows how much we need them,
and so He takes but few
To make the land of Heaven
more beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult
still somehow we must try.
The saddest word mankind knows
will always be "Goodbye."
So when a little child departs,
we who are left behind
Must realize God loves children
Angels are hard to find.
I still get choked up reading this. I hope you never have to use it but I wanted to share just in case.
Hugs to all of you out there who have experienced losing a child!
~~~My heart goes out to all mothers that have miscarried, had ill or premature babies....one of my best friends has 3 boys. One was born very healthy, the 2nd was born with a "mis-wired" heart and had to have open heart surgery at 1 month and the 3rd was born 2 months early and was in intensive care for 8 weeks. It was very hard on her but all 3 boys are perfectly healthy now and thriving!
Oh Jen, perfect timing! My stamping has been VERY limited over the past few months due to really bad tendonitis, but my dh just asked me yesterday if I could please stamp him a couple of baby cards for a co-worker whose having a shower next week. They don't know (or aren't telling) the gender, so I really jumped when I saw this challenge. So...since I only get to do a very few cards these days and I need to make a gender-neutral one for dh...this challenge works for me!!! Linda
Thank you, Jen, for this challenge!! I had a blast making this card!!
I sketched out the template, cut it and used my punches in other areas. I spongedthe edges so when you open the card you can see the shadow of the onsie. I think I will make a few of these in different colors today. I need to perfect the template anyway.
OK, Great challenge for me as I'm getting into that phase of life where kids of friends are having kids, etc. BUT I DON'T YET HAVE ANY BABY stamps! Gotta get ideas! Jen you are a genius and mind reader!
AND, I'll be walking in April in DC, for Kathryn's Team, in memory of my friend's daughter Kathryn who went home to God at the tender age of 8 weeks. I'll let her know about this challenge!
Thanks for looking (and thank you so much for your sweet words from my last card and dedication. Jesus' love for me keeps me going and His hope helps me try to find joy in the children we'll be blessed with in the future (whether natural or adopted).
thanks again!
Oh what great timing was this challenge. I was all bummed because I haven't done any in a while, and to my surprise the challenge is perfect because I am doing a Super Saturday stamp tomorrow with BABY cards! How fun!
Nothing too fancy - just a simple card buffet card.
LOVE WHAT I HAVE SEEN SO FAR! CAN'T WAIT TO GET A CHANCE TO DO MY OWN! THANKS FOR THE WONDERFULLY CREATIVE IDEAS AND SAMPLES.
Woohoo. I did it, I did it!!
This is my very first challenge ever. I needed a neutral baby card for a friend and I was just dragging my feet.
Thanks to this awesome challenge I got it done and finally took the risk of making and ULing a challenge.
This may end up a double post, I was posting my link and this server/computer or something booted me off again in the middle of my post. Here is MY BOY/GIRL card. I think I really do like to make blue or Pink cards best.
Thanks for sharing your stories, ladies. You've been through a lot and you brought tears to my eyes... especially the poem. My own story is shared on the web link, WalkAmerica 2007. I've had 2 preemies. Brian is almost 12 yrs. old and Blake died during delivery. Looking forward to seeing him again one fine reunion day.
Looking forward to seeing all your cute baby cards a little later. I need to rest as I am still pretty sick and had to go to work today because I've run out of sick days. Thanks for playing, today. :-D
