Clean and Simple (CAS) Favorites for Week Ending SATURDAY, September 1, 2018
I saw a quote this week that said September is the second January. I had never thought about it thatway, but I think they are right. New season, new school year, and for we crafters Christmas is coming sooner than we think. If we started January working toward some goal but lost our focus along the way, now that summer is winding down, there's a sense that we can get back on track. I haven't been in my stamp room for most of the month and I've really missed it. So, yes, I am loving that we turned over to a new month today and it's a long holiday weekend so I can use some of that time to get back into the craft I love.
Thankfully, many of you HAVE been in your craft rooms/nooks this past week and have come up with some perfectly lovely CAS creations. Here are a few that caught my eye this week:
Merry byRedbugdriver Love the embossed swiss dots and the use of brushed gold card stock on this holiday beauty.
IC665 Gold Christmas byjandjccc Again, the brushed gold card stock caught my eye. Mary's trees look so elegant against her beautiful background panel.
Fussy Cut Harvest byMeeMaw8***NEW-TO-ME-STAMPER *** I love the beauty and versatility of this card - it is a lovely birthday card, but could just as easily be a sympathy, thinking-of-you, or get well card.
Winter Woods Fall Thank You byamyk3868 I always love when I come across a pretty CAS card where the "whitespace" isn't white. I really liked how the trees were stamped lightly to keep the feel of "open" space so fundamental to CAS design.
Thank You Garden Scene byjeanmanis While Jean's card has a lot of components, she keeps the design CAS with her white gate and fence, as well her soft airbrushed-looking sky.
Now it's your turn - what CAS gems did you find in the gallery this week? Let us know! If you found some great non-CAS cards this week (and I'm sure you did), I encourage you to recognize those stampers on our sister "Favorites" thread.

This thread is open to everyone and is a great way to recognize the work of SCS's many talented CAS artists.
There are really only two "rules" here on the thread:
The Gallery posts you link to should be in the CAS style...
-------------------------------- And what does it mean to be Clean and Simple?
It's all about the design.
* Uncluttered
* lots of white or open space
* one main focal point --------------------------------
...and they should be from the past week.
Did you find your way to this thread because someone listed one of YOUR creations as a favorite? In addition to saying thank you, we encourage you to pay that smile you're probably wearing right now forward by sharing a few of the cards/projects YOU favorite-ed this week.
If this is your first time being mentioned in this thread or you have a new blog we have blog badges found here in this post.
Need help linking your Favorites? Follow these steps:
1. Load this week's Favorites thread in your first browser tab. Scroll down and click the Go Advanced button.
2. Open a second tab (or a separate window). Go to the Gallery and click on "My Favorites."
3. Click on a card you have saved. At the top, highlight the web address. Hit Ctrl+C to copy.
4. Switch back to the first tab. Type the cardmaker's SCS name, add a couple of spaces and hit Ctrl+V to paste your link there. Hit Enter twice to add a blank line.
5. Repeat as many times as needed for all your links.
6. Click the Preview Post button and check that your links work. Then click the Submit Reply button.
Huge thanks to Debbie (swldebbie) for loving on my card. Thank you so much for listing in among your favorites this week. So happy you liked it.
Thank you to Karen for the notification. You do such a great job.
Back later today with my favorites.

Yes! Ever since I had school-age kids I have thought of the first week of August as the first week of the year. (Our kids start in August.) August is definitely my reset. I always think what can I do better this school year, etc etc. I pretty much ignore January 1st as a reset anymore. I think it's good to reevaluate our plans and goals etc. We are already a month into the "new year" at our house! I hope you get plenty of stamping time this month because I adore your cards and miss you when you are unable to post!!!
THANK you, Debbie, for choosing my REAL SIMPLE card as a favorite! You made my day!!!

Oh my, I am so, so honored that Jay_Bee (Janine) listed my Season of Light card set#2 as one of her CAS favorites this week! Thank you, thank you, Janine! And a huge thank you to k dunbrook (Karen) for the happy notification!
I am just blown away to have one of my cards listed as a CAS favorite; CAS cards are difficult for me, because I tend towards LOTS of layers and embellies! :-) This really has made my day--it's been "one of those weeks", and I've not had time to make many cards, let alone get them uploaded! So, again, many, many thanks!!
