I have started a new 30-day journaling devotional today. It's an Illustrated Faith book by Shanna Noel. I love her! She's the one who hosted the Bible Journaling Alaskan Cruise I went on and is so friendly, personable, encouraging, and sweet... not to mention talented.
The Journaling Devotion is called Grace & Gratitude; the journaling is done right in the book. I'm not sure if this counts as Bible Art Journaling, since it isn't in a Bible, but I thought you ladies might like to see what I'm doing.
Julie said this: "and BTW, they are not ugly...there is no ugly in BAJ, just worship!"
And she is right. Thanks for setting us straight, Julie! I'm eager to explore the everlasting life theme once again.
Jeanette, thanks for sharing that cool book! I vote that yes, it's Bible Art Journaling. If you break it down into separate words, your new venture fits each word. So go for it! I for one am anxious to see what comes out of it!

Me again. Julie, you must be listening closely to the Spirit. The November theme is the perfect match for where my devotional thoughts are leading me. We are the Lord's, and nothing or no one can take us away from Him once we accept his gift of eternal life. Here's my page on John 10:28.

This was the day I was gone so it had to be super fast/easy and something I could take with me to work on while I was gone. Not liking it but it is what it is. ;)
Thank you for sharing that Jeanette. I needed the visual image to really understand...now I need to go see who Shanna Noel is as I have never heard of her. (You would think I live on a deserted island, I just live in a fish bowl at the end of a very long driveway outside of a very small town!)

Faye, Shanna is the one who kind of got the Bible Journaling thing going way back when. She is also the one who was the teacher/leader on the Bible Journaling cruise that my daughter and I took to Alaska a little over 2 years ago. She is fun and bubbly. You've heard of the company Illustrated Faith, right? That's Shanna Noel's company.

No, I have not...but I will keep learning through you!

Hi everyone! Jeanette, your journal pages are amazing! I'm curious too. How large are the pages? You mentioned that for Day 4 you did your lettering yourself. How are you getting the lettering on the other pages? And are the images stamped or drawn or something else? This seems to be a great journaling tool and you are really giving us new inspiration! BTW, I really like your Day 4 - I think it's the color palette that is catching my eye.

Wow - I have so much to catch up on here! Will take me awhile. I have been BAJ, but haven't been posting - not sure why - just too many things going on.
Many hugz - I am off to catch up on your creations and comments.

I think all of you have pages just as cool and just as wonderful as the pages in the video by the way! She just slaps on some paint, some stickers and some washi tape - you all can do that and more. Many hugz!
Translation: I do like that video but I love all your pages more!

I'm home again... it was a great annual meeting and awesome time re-connecting with people from all over our state. I love these meetings!
Nancy I love your Blue Pumpkins page! WOW! Beautiful and a great reminder to be thankful!
Thanks for your sweet comments, Nancy! I do think we each have our own style of doing BAJ and each one is exactly as it should be because it is what draws us closer to God!
Lois, the pages of the Grace & Gratitude book are approximately 8" tall and 6" wide. I hate my penmanship. Perhaps partially because I had what I considered pretty penmanship until I went to college - speeding through note-taking ruined it! ;) So I rarely actually write on my BAJ pages... I either generate it on the computer and attach it to the page, stamp it (if I have stamps that work), or use letter stickers.
This page was a different style for me. I put "BE HUMBLE" on the page using letter stickers, then sponged on ink. Once I was finished sponging the ink, I carefully removed the letters. Then I stamped the bee directly onto the page (since the pages in this book are a bit heavier than Bible pages that works well). And it was finished. Easy! Since I needed to do the page quickly while traveling its worked. ;)

Is it possible for you to work on reestablishing what you liked? Writing your lists and being "present" in the moment to work on your penmanship?
A calmness is needed to have a penmanship I like for myself. At times I write really tiny, it shows that there is stress and tenseness inside me with what I want to say, smooth and legible is when calm and peace are in me, the shaky, mistakes, and edgy cursive is when I am hurrying to get an obligation DONE.

Isn't it amazing how we are so self-critical? Jeanette, I see nothing wrong with your penmanship on those pages. It's clean, clear, neat...what more could you want? Mine is scrawly and uneven, especially when I write in cursive. I like to remember that our grandchildren might someday cherish something that we wrote in our own hand.
Jeanette - thanks for sharing a few more pages. They're really inspiring. I love the bee page! But I have a question about page 6: you put "hot sauce" on your list of things to be thankful for. Is there an explanation for that?
I'm off to check in on the galleries.

Lois, I agree about being self-critical. I think we're often our own worse critics. And yes... I hope some day the next generations will be thankful to see my writing. ;)
Oh, sorry... I guess this thread doesn't know. I speak of Hot Sauce quite a bit in other places on SCS. Hot Sauce is my car. I love her.... because she takes me so many great places! My DH is always very protective of me since I travel so many miles alone and keeps me in very good wheels. Hot Sauce is a beautiful red VW Jetta.
Sharon, thank you! I'm actually having a lot of fun with the Grace & Gratitude pages. For some reason I don't dwell on them too much and I don't fret as much about actually writing on them, like I do with my journaling Bible.
When my DD turned 16 and started driving, she decided I should name my cars, since she names hers... so I've done so since then.
