Default what kind of ink and printer should I get

I want to try doing some digi stuff. I think I'll have access to so many more images but have no idea where to start. Any suggestions?

I'm very happy with my inexpensive Brother laser printer and Georgia Pacific card stock. I did have a problem once when the toner we used was a cheap knock off brand. But the regular toner works great.

I have an Epson Artisan and have no problems with ink smudging. It does not take heavy weight paper. But I pretty much only use copic x-press it paper for digis and it works fine with the printer.

I have an HP all in one officejet. I've been having trouble with smearing until just recently someone here on the forum suggested choosing "photo quality paper" in the printer's preferences (but using any card stock not actual photo paper) and since then I have not had any problems anymore with any kind of card stock. So now I am very happy with my printer.

I have a Canon MP560 and haven't had any problems using the Canon inks. I just this week switched to a continuous ink supply system, so I don't know how the inks will work. Hopefully, they won't smear...

I am sooo going to try this! Thank you! I have already printed out quite a few digis, but going to try this with some more digis later. I've been avoiding light colored markers and ink, because of the smearing, so I am looking forward to trying this out! Thanks again!
