Default Printer Purchase...did I make a big mistake? Pixma-100

Hi!
It took me weeks to finally settle on purchasing a Canon Pixma Pro 100.

Almost went for an Epson, but decided I wanted dye ink for many reasons.

Come to find out it does not print on 12x12? That was not mentioned of course *sigh*.

Does anyone know an EASY work around or something??? I want to print 12x12 digital papers sometimes. :/

Thank you for any and all help and opinions.
Sherri

I've never seen a printer that would print on 12x12 paper. They are more for office work than crafting, but you'd think someone would catch on and make one with us crafters in mind! I'm not saying there isn't any out there, I've just never seen one that will take 12 x12 paper.

The specs say that it will take paper up to 13"x19". I know the Canon I have will let me create a custom size paper (I sometimes print on 4x4 cardstock for coasters). You should be able to go into the printer's paper size settings and create the custom size paper. If you can't find where to do it, try contacting Canon support. They should be able to walk you through it.

My Canon won't take that size. That's awesome. I agree with cat_woman. Your printer settings should allow you to choose a custom size paper if it will take that size.

I love my Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II. I love it for printing on heavy watercolor paper, handling 300# with ease. It will print on 12x12 paper, but not borderless. There will be about a 1/4 inch border on 12x12 paper. You can use 13x19 paper and trim if you need a print that's exactly 12x12. I find the standard 13x19 weight is perfect for me, but may not be heavy enough for your project. There are only a handful of printers that will print 12x12 borderless. I hope I've answered your questions, so sorry you weren't aware of this.

Default Thank you everyone! Found out..

Hi,
I found out that you can print borderless 12x12 on the PIXMA Pro-100 if you use an editing software I am thinking of Lightroom at some point, but for now the editing program that came with my Canon camera will handle it.

Wow, you never know! A tech told me yesterday that my computer is not compatible with that printer *sigh*. Turns out he was wrong LOL.

I watched a few YouTubes where they printed on 12x12 canvas with the PIXMA and I will definitely be trying that!

And you are soooo right muskrat! They need to make a printer where the settings are simple to switch from plain paper to photo. AND to bring back the completely flat straight feed for us as well!

Maybe we should band together and design the perfect printer for crafters and add a scanner as well..........then take it to a developer LOL There is a diamond mine out there with all of us for that!

Thank you again so very much:

well i tried printing digital stamps on a very thin cardstock [georgia pacific] on both laser printers i have at home. both became jammed. guess i will have to buy a new printer.... seems inkjet is better for this rather than laser printer?
