for me i buy mine at Oozak.com: 'eCustomer' Service at it's BEST!. I would start with colors you tend to color most with so b91, b93 for jeans, depending on hair colors i like e25, e27. e29 for hair. E33 for a nice tan color. E51 or e00 for skin color. I like greens so i like g05, g24. R35 and R37 for reds. But for sure by colors that you use most.

Right now Carpediem.com has the Sketch markers for $3.95. Free shipping after spending $50.00. I filled in my stash on Saturday. I use E50 and E51 together for flesh ~ first the E50 and around the face, etc. with the E51, I use Y04 and Y06 together and right now have been using YR16 and YR18 for pumpkins. For leaves I use G63 with just a "fuzz" of G67 pulled in from the edges. Hope this helps!

Check out the starter lists here on the color me copic blog for more suggestions.

I also have lots of other color combo suggestions on my Copic FAQ page on my blog here

I ordered from Oozak.com also and copicmarkerS.com when I was growing my collection.

Oh forgot to mention I use both Ciao and Sketch markers. I liked the ciao when I was first starting out because it was easier for me to hold them and color with the lighter marker with a thinner round barrel (like a regular pen). The sketch take a little more getting used to- to learn to control how much ink you are putting down when you color.
