I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. What do you gals think, is it time to start another digi challenge? I am ready whenever you gals are. I am wondering if we all might like to experiment with different techniques our programs offer. Just a for instance, using a mask. Any other ideas gals? Shall we all throw in a suggestion or two and then choose one to experiment with, say a challenge at a time. Discussions anyone? Wishing all of you the very best in the New Year.
I'm still not able to post challenges, but I can work here and there a little on a digi page. I'm open for suggestions as to what we could all do. Hope we hear from some of the other gals.

Well...I haven't been scrapping at all since I went considerably over my goal this year but if you had wanted to do something with masks..check out this site http://www.freewebs.com/vixpsp/masks.htm Tons of them! I wasn't sure how to use them but I downloaded and saved all of them! LOL!
I'm kind of clueless when it comes to making up challenges for digital scrapping since I'm not real good yet with things in this program. I just go by the paper scrapping and try to convert it over!
Terry, thanks for posting that site address. Wow, what a great site. Really nice masks! One thing I like to do with masks is make background paper. I use the same color or paper to make the mask, then put it over a layer of that color or paper and add a drop shadow. I use masks a lot, I will use the Merry Christmas word mask from that site to make a layout using a picture my DD gave us for Christmas. These masks would be easy to do with PSPX2, I am not sure about PSE. I will research that. I use PSE occasionally, not as much as I would like to since I have the program loaded on my laptop and it runs so slow on it. Wendy, I hope you are feeling better. Hi there Joyce, how do you like your new residence? Ok then, I am just going to throw out a challenge here to use a mask in a layout. If any of you gals are interested in getting together for a chat session sometime I think I can set one up with Windows messenger where we could all be together. Anybody game for that? Off to work on a layout using the Christmas picture and the Vix mask 439.
Hi Shirley, love your blog. I downloaded the reindeer paper, very nice. Thank you so much. Hope you will like and join our little digi community. I am really hoping to see the digi challenges grow in 2010. When I first started doing digi challenges here Fresshe was doing the challenges, then Wendy took over. They both were great at coming up with interesting challenges every week. If you can think of any kind of challenge toss it out here.
Wow Marcia. That layout is awesome! I couldn't believe it's all made from the masks. I won't have much time this week to work on layouts but maybe on New Year's day! DGS plays with his new Wii system so that clears the way for me to use the computer ;)! I'm thinking Santa had me in mind....
lol, that last post made me laugh....I'd really like to do a spotlight image page. has that been done one as a challenge before? If not, Id love to see that as one of the challenges. I'd also like to do one of those pages where they fill the word with the photo - like using the word as a mask. But I'm really up for anything that will get me caught up.
I'm very new to digi scrapping. I haven't a clue! I have the MDS from Stampin Up - thought I might use for mapping my layouts on paper. So I will probably view and attempt any challenges that you post....no guarrantees here. Still trying to figure things out. The one time I attempted recently - I went back to pulling out my papers, because I got frustrated! So I'm sure if I spent the time to see what it would do, I would love it....but not very patient right now.
Hi Tristen, I went to your SU website and had a look-see. I do not know anything about the MDS from SU. Do you know if they have a demo product one could download? I would be interested in finding out exactly what MDS can do. In the meantime why don't you try one of the previous challenges and see how it goes for you. If you have any questions I feel certain those of us who do digi-scrappin would be happy to help you. Very nice to meet you and to have another participant in the digi challenges.

I went for a long time owning Elements and not wanting to take the time to learn. What I did was start doing the digi challenges (which were new then) and learned a little at a time. Gradually, I picked up the gist of my program. There will always be new things to learn with digi, but you can start out simple and before you know it, some of those things will become second nature. Keep the faith!!

When I got PSE 6, I bought the video course from scrapgirls.com, it was really great -by the time I was done I felt like I had a good handle on it. I think it is $40, but they have 25% off specials a lot and it saved me HOURS of frustration so I felt like it was worth the money, and you can watch them over and over. I also recently bought the SU MDS- it is very limiting. If your used to PSE, you will probably not like MDS. BUT if your new to digital scrapping I think MDS might be a good first step. I personally bought it because it comes with about 60 digital stamp sets, 3 were ones I inteneded to buy and they alone added up to the cost of the MDS. I'm turning them into photoshop brushes and I've been using them in PSE8. Keep trying, and if you need 10 tips on digital, go to this sight and click on the I(heart)digi button on the sidbar : http://scrapbooklady.typepad.com/kat...o-go-digi.html
