Default Problems with image smearing

I use a lot of digital stamps. I have used an inkjet printer in the past and had problems with the image smearing when I color with my colored pencils. Thought I would try using a laser printer so I bought a Brother laser printer. The problem still exists, however, not as bad. Does anyone have a solution? What have others experienced?

If you heat set the image prior to coloring you should be good to go. I use digital images all the time and I color with all different mediums and don't have problems with smearing.

Default Tips for preserving digital stamp lines

I use my printer at a 'normal' or lower setting (draft if you have it). If you use 'best' the ink will often smear because of the amount of toner needed. I also make sure the setting is no higher than 300 dpi. Hope this helps!

Thank you both. I never though of heat setting. I tried hairspray and that didn't help. I am not sure what the settings are on my printer, but will look into it.

I have to print mine on the fast setting so it doesn't lay down too much ink. On my other printer, I had to use the photo setting, like i was printing a photo, but used cardstock. Hope you are able to find the best setting for yours.
