unfortunately, though, in viewing my card side-by-side with everyone else's, i apparently opened the wrong pack of new paper (i think i mistakenly used so saffron, rather than apricot appeal). sorry, ladies. i'll have to double check before i post next time. either way, you get the idea, right?

Hi again....Newstamperamy issued a challenge when she said that she couldn't picture anything other than flowers for this color combo, so I set out to make a card that didn't use flowers. Here's what I came up with.

That card is adorable! And just to clarify, I said that *I* couldn't come up with anything but flowers for this one. LOL! I pulled out all my sets and I just could not think of a way to use any of my non-flower sets.
I knew that someone else would be able to think outside the flower-box!

WOW! I have to admit (sheepishly!) that I have never checked out these color challenges, so I was completely clueless when someone posted a comment on my card about it! I am TOTALLY honored to have been chosen as an inspiration sample, and thank you so much for your kind comments! I don't feel deserving... I completely stole these colors and the layout from the catalog, but I'll take your praise regardless!
FABULOUS cards, ladies! I really love these "not-so-normal" colors together, and I love looking at all your creations. Guess I'll have to start checking out these color challenges more often!

Yay! I got one done. I think I used too much apricot...should have used celery as the card base...but that's 'cause I'm just not into apricot that much.
I decided to combine the color and sketch challenges together. I love this color combo. I had fun with this challenge. Thanks for inspiring me to try new colors together.

1st Color challenge!
I JUST got these colors in the mail today, so decided I might as well try my 1st color combo challenge! My stamps are very limited and I had no idea what I was going to do with these colors! I just started doing sketch challenges and they really inspire me, so I went back and found a sketch I liked (SC21) and this is what I ended up with:
I don't have any SU! papers (still working on getting the colors), so I just used a generic purple. Also, the eggplant seemed a little dark and overpowering, so I stamped off once before I stamped on the card. Thanks for the challenge.... it really WAS a challenge for me! lol
This is my second color challenge and I really, really like this color combination. Unfortunately, my card did not scan well and you really can't see the apricot appeal flowers. It's very pretty IRL, so I guess you'll have to take my word for it. Thanks for letting me play!
Whew!!! I just uploaded my CC23 card that I combined with SC34. The CC was a bit challenging because I had the CS, but only the apricot ink so....I used my Stampin Pastels. Worked fine, but takes longer. I really liked the results. A beautiful color combo. Pending at 11:00 a.m. PST.
