What about looking over the sketches from the sketch challenges? You can use the sketches yourself without first looking at the galleries.

Then try the same thing with the color challenge colors....take the recommended colors and see what you can do. Or start out small by taking one card you like on SCS and changing one thing: the stamp set or the colors.
