Thanks for using my request for this challenge Emily!
To those who have asked, the 'official' Virginia Tech colors are Maroon and Burnt Orange. If you don't have Pumpkin Pie, Only Orange is a perfectly acceptable substitute. There really isn't anything to sub for the Burgandy though. BUT, even if you don't have the colors, I know the family would appreciate the card, so send me one anyway!
TIA to all of you who are participating.

I've been looking at all of your cards this morning and the tears are flowing. I knew my SCS sisters would respond to this challenge, and you didn't disappoint. I'll be watching for your cards in my mailbox this week and will forward them on to the families. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who have been so supportive. It has been a very sad week here in Virginia, but we are healing, thanks to the support from all over the country.

Is there any way we could find addresses to the 31 other families who lost loved ones? In church on SUnday, every person got one of the victim's names and a little biography of them to pray for their families.
My heart breaks for them all and we have such great resources; couldn't we try to find out more info. so we could send cards to all the hurting families?
Just a thought..but not sure how to find that out. Maybe I'll ask my Pastors.

Here is a link to a thread of a SCSer who is gathering and forwarding cards:Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Maybe something like this is what you are looking for?
Now, hopefully I will be able to do one or two of these today.
Great idea to make the VT colors as the color combo this week. Here is the card I made. It includes a link to beadfreak22 (Katherine) who is also collecting cards to send.
Emily What a great idea to send cards for the victims of the VT shooting.
I will make one when I get home tonight. Can you please email me your
address please. My email is [email protected]. Barb

We feel your pain in New Mexico as in the entire country...one thing that has been so evident in all this is the DIGNITY that everyone involved in this tragedy has shown in dealing with their incredible pain and suffering. Prayers and love continue to flow...
I want to add my thanks to everyone participating in this challenge. All of our crafts stores and fabric stores were sold out of VT fabrics and colors -- I think every kid playing a sport on Saturday work VT colors -- girls with hair ribbons, boys with armbands -- it was a wonderful tribute to how much Virginia Tech touches the entire Commonwealth of Virginia. My sister and her DH are Tech grads who still live in Blacksburg. The impact will be felt there forever as children of faculty who died play with my niece and nephews.
Creatively challenged today. These colors are tough together! Managed to come up with something but it is a CASE with slight modifications. debils CC111 by debils at Splitcoaststampers

Okay, I know I am a little late on this, however I would still love to participate. I am here in VA and feel strongly that I wanted to do something. This is right where I want to be!!! Will make the card today.
I am so happy that SCS is reaching out this way. Thanks for giving those of us who don't have personal ties to the tragedy a way to share our feelings of loss and understanding. You guys are great!
Great idea and challenge Emily. I'm going to refrain from sending to the families listed though, as much as I hurt for them. My family is in VA and my cousin in a VT alumni. I'm sending my cards to her and I'm going to let her distribute them. TFL!

Thanks for such a great challenge. I have been looking at all the entries and I believe this may be the most beautiful group of cards I have seen in any one challenge. Maybe the emotion has just shown through in the artwork. I will work on mine soon. Thanks for this. linda
