Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
Here is the 4th and last for the day.....thanks, Emily , for this choice in colors. It helped me to make a fabulous set of cards for a dear friend.....and they come with many memories from a trip we took together years ago.....
Okay - here is my "nontraditional" chinese NewYear card (because I used African dancers) - but I actually made the card last night before I saw this challenge posted today. One of the other SCS users thought it fit the challenge though - so I thought I better link it here too.
Heres my card its not Chinese but it said we could use the colors if it wasnt....I used gold brads for my gold....I did read up on The Year of The Pig it says people born during this time are very kind hearted....so heres my card... Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Hey ladies, here's my attempt at the challenge - this was a tough one for me, so please be gentle! The scan is bad due to the 3-D rose at the top corner.
Thank you Peggy and Emily for a great challenge! I love this color combo - all the cards just look so striking! Here's hoping that mine will not be the exception! lol!
I actually got to stamp today!! Wohoo!! Thanks for a great challenge Emily! I love how my card turned out. And it's even prettier in person! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Here is my card for the challenge. I have no Asian stamps at all so I figured I might as well use the zebra. I thought the gold swirls in the background could be fireworks ringing in the new year!
I know it's totally simple, but that's my style and I am REALLY happy how this turned out!!! Not posting in the gallery since my DSS may check there....
Silvia - the cuttlebug swirl embossing is thanks to your enabling!!!! The glitter is all Stickles Platinum. The coins I picked up on Fishermans Wharf in San Fran for $1 for 6 of them! The stamp is CTMH cuz their Wisdom set images are larger than Kanji/Symbols of Solicitude.....

Lisa, I love the way you did the background. Beautiful card! Harriet

Gung Hey Fat Choy!
Actually, since over 1/2 of my kindergarten class is Vietnamese, I should say Chuc Mung Nam Moi! My school has a HUGE celebration every Lunar New Year (Tet), complete with a lion/dragon dance--it's magical and I love it! So, naturally, I had to do 2 cards! Hope you like them...
Here is my entry. Thanks for suggesting these beautiful color combinations.
