Ok, here's my card. I loved this challenge so much...I actually did it! I'm so excited to actually finally upload a card for one of the challenges!! Thanks for everything Emily...The inspirations are fantastic!!!
Emily I personally thank you for taking the time out of your already busy day to post the color challenge for us, I do remember one of the first things I read is that if you don't have the color, substitute. I bought the in colors and do not feel I *WASTED* my money at all, they are lovely colors and I am enjoying them, if you do not choose to buy them, then so be it, but don't complain just because you make the choice. In life we all make choices, what you choose may not be what I choose, and that's ok, but neither of us should be upset because the other made a different choice.
Once again, thanks Emily, you are super!

Interesting to think that someone would only want to participate IF they could win the big prize.
I don't use SU paper at all, have some of the inks. And altho I don't participate in a lot of daily challenges I appreciate the fact that they are there for my own personal brain challenges. Thanx for the hard work. Dump the crab apples! Nothing makes them happy anyway.
I love the sample card for the challenge. I'm loving this color combo. Hopefully I get to play today. Might have to take some stuff to work on while dd is in dance.
wow. it's always been very clear that you can sub colors. sorry some people feel "left out" because they chose not to spend $4.95 on a pack of paper that could be easily used up in the YEAR it's current. i know the color challenge is one of my faves. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME, Emily!!!!!!!

Very well said! Any given week there are colors that someone may not have...not just "in colors".
I am so grateful to Emily for doing the challenges every week, for Leigh supplying the prize, and I'm really happy for Lauren and Karen.
I hope the negativity expressed doesn't cause Em to say "the heck with it".
This would be the perfect occasion for that Dolly Lama (sp??) stamp that says "Put your Big Girl Panties on and Deal With It!"
Again, Big Thanks and Congratulations to the winners!

Can I throw out a reminder--This is a FREE site, you don't have to pay to visit it. The daily challenges are put up by VOLUNTEERS.
Life isn't always "fair". But gee, if you could have won you wouldn't be complaining. so for any one else out there who has a problem with the way it was done: It's time to put on your big girl panties and deal with it like an adult.
Thanks, Emily for all of your hard work that you put into this challenge every week so that we can all grow as stampers. You Rock, Girl!
Congratulations on #100!! I was very happy and lucky that I was able to do this challenge. I don't have Blush Blossom in my collection of colours, but I was very lucky to find one piece of BB in my misc. colours.
I'm going to give this card to a family friend that has lung cancer and is having a miserable time with treatment. I think card will cheer him up as well as his wife.
I pick certainly celery for the most used colour. Thanks for the challenge.
Hubby got home and I managed to sneak off and whip up a quick card. it isn't fancy or anything. like i said I'm not that creative. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
So do I win something if I am the 100th person to post a color challenge card??? lol Been up at mom's doing wash and chasing a baby so no time to do the challenge yet. Love the colors. Maybe i can combine it with the sketch challenge tomorrow! Thanks a heap, Emily!
My CC100.......whoohoo!!!!!! You go Emily :-) You are such an inspiration and here is another awesome color combo. My card goes to Emily for all her hard work. BTW, I vote for Chocolate Chip with C. Celery a close 2nd.
Emily, thanks for posting the challenges - they are always a lot of fun.
And thanks to all the challenge leaders and mods that keep this fantastic site up and running, challenging and fun. I appreciate all of it. It is a blessing in my life. I am a winner every day, as I get to stamp and associate with great people because of this site.
SCS is an amazing effort. I stand and applaud all of you!
I agree! I am learning so much from this site. I really appreciate everything that goes on here at SCS!
This was so much fun. I loved this challenge---my first color one. Thanks! Here is my card...ahem...substituted Temp Turquoise for Cool Carribean!!! LOL! Thanks for looking!!! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Congrats to the winner, but I have to say -- the contest would have been fairer had it NOT automatically disqualified half the site by including an "in color" color. (Not to mention how many work during the day.)
MANY stampers here can't afford to waste money on colors that are only available a short time. Yes, you could buy reinkers, but how many could afford to purchase a lifetime supply of matching CS? It's one thing not to have one of the regular colors, but "limited edition" colors? And if you think this challenge hasn't become exclusive, consider that 16 of the last 30 have included "special" colors. I used to enjoy challenging my creativity with the weekly CC, but when it includes "special" colors week after week? No wonder I rarely check this challenge anymore.
I hope others will stand up and express their dismay along with me.
I don't think 1 sour post constitutes "messy" for this contest. I think it is, and has always been, fabulous for VOLUNTEERS to be excited and do these wonderful challenges faithfully every week despite some challenging circumstances. Gosh!!! These are fun challenges and if life gets in the way of some fun...welcome to life! Substitutions are always permissable - I've asked about that myself. Did I oggle that fabulous book Leigh put together? Of course - who didn't! Were my knickers twisted that I had committments that prevented me from being in the running? Not at all! I'll make my own fabulous book... Not as nice as Leigh's and I have no prima's, but life's too short to get twisted up about not getting a daily dose of whipping cream, or chocolate, or insert your favourite must-have here... Nice to have but not necessary.
It is so unfortunate Emily felt necessary to write and post a formal apology. I am grateful for all the work she and the other mods do to bring joy and challenge to my daily grind. I think more people should stand up and cheer the mods for their time and effort rather than wasting time griping about loosing out on some freebies...
That book is flippin' fabulous! Congrats to the lucky girl who won it! I'v only done a couple challenges in the past, but I always enjoy looking at the cards!
Thanks everyone for sharing your beautiful creations, and thanks Emily for coming up with a new challenge every week.
Congrats to the winner, but I have to say -- the contest would have been fairer had it NOT automatically disqualified half the site by including an "in color" color. (Not to mention how many work during the day.)

No support here! How dare you criticize someone for doing something good. How about a thanks for all your time and effort. Isn't this supposed to be fun and how about the time and effort that was put into the challenges. Come on....grow-up!

I am SHOCKED and STUNNED!! I have been daydreaming about that wonderful book all day!! I was even HOME all day, and could have logged on at 6AM when it was posted but I didn't!! I had a husband and children to take care of before any stamping!!
I do not have Cool Carribean ink and I used a CHEAP knockoff substitute from a pastel colorbox I have had for years..... HERE, ya can't even tell!!! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
(((((((HUGS)))))))) to ALL

First...
In my opinion absolutely no apology is necessary from you.
Personally, I thank you Emily for coordinating the color challenges each week. I'm amazed at them. They're always awesome and really provide a creatively-challenged person like me a place to start. You and the other VOLUNTEER coordinators are the backbone of SCS and I'm sure the moderators and creators of the site truly appreciate what you do as do ALL (with one or two unbelievably unfounded exceptions) OF US who LOVE this site and the folks on it
Wahoo!!!! I actually did this challenge on the day it was posted....believe that's a first for me! It's a terrific combination and I had fun putting something together with those lovely colors. I definitely did not feel the contest was in any way unfair. As some others have stated...the individual who managed to create your feeling as if you should apologize needs to "grow up" or "get a life". I've got to be the slowest card maker on this earth, so knew going in there was no way I'd be eligible for a prize that involved completing something quickly...but that didn't and wouldn't have stopped me. The fact that I do have CCaribbean was a plus but I also knew that if a certain color wasn't available a substitute is fine. So...now having put in my $.02 I'll get off the soapbox.

Last but certainly not least...Congrats to Lauren. Her card and she are definitely deserving of that fabulous prize. And thanks to Leigh for creating such an awesome prize...it looks marvelous.

I have very little SU cardstock and yet I have been able to substitute and participate week after week in this challenge. Emily has never excluded people because they don't have the name brand 'stuff'.....she has always allowed for substitutions........so there is no reason for this complaint.
I thank the challenge leaders for pushing us to leave our comfort zones and make us try new things.....techniques.....colors.....sketches..... supplies.......that's how we learn from one another here...............
so.....
I just had to support Emily in this case. She did not have to offer any prize.......the real prize (availabel to all on the site) is being able to meet so many wonderful people and learn so much from each other...............and to gaze at the outstanding creations displayed in the galleries .......
Fantastic colors! I'd never have used them were it not for your Color Challenge! Thanks Emily, for inspiring me week after week to use those colors I'd never think to!

I think more will stand up and express dismay that Emily felt she had to apologize. As so many here have stated, this site is free and the challenges are headed by volunteers. Add to that the fact that Emily and Leigh spent their own $ (and time) on supplies for the prize, and I think they are entitled to our gratitude, not our dismay.

Okay I normally don't stick my nose in where it doesn't belong, and I really don't even participate in the challenges. But I like Emily so I HAD to post my 2 cents. I was stunned when I read what was said in this thread!!!
Some people are just so miserable in their own lives that they have to try and point fingers and make others look bad so that the finger is not pointed at them, or they don't have to think about their own miserable existance. ( I am not centering anyone out...I am making a statement)
IMO, if you don't like the challenge, move on....or choose another one. There is a variety for a reason! Sheesh. While one person cannot please everyone, keep in mind that she may be pleasing a lot of others!! You obviously have no clue how hard Emily works, or how many people stalk her challenge each week. I am sure your attitude will not be missed if you don't come back!
Emily you are very much appreciated by hundreds of people, and you should never feel the need to appologize for any of your challenges!! (((hugs to you)))
 This was my first color challenge, and it was ton's of fun! I even stalked in anticipation for the colors to be named! BUT for some reason my card was deleted off the site! So I'm posting it again!
Those colours are so elegant together! Never would have thought to create this combo, but it really works - thanks for the inspiration!
I used my latest acquisitions to play - Big Blossom and Blooming with Happiness. Here's the result:
Emily, is there any way we could get the template that Leigh used for the ATC size cards in the book. I would buy the file from her!! lol I would love to put together one of those books for my own personal use. It would be a ball. Would you ask her please??
whew, I'm off the computer for a couple hours and I miss alot. I'm just going to say, Thanks Emily! You do a great job week after week!
I'm still playing! I had fun making my card, and really love these colors. I think Blush is becoming one of my new faves! It looks so good with so many colors!
Anyway, here is mine, pending approval. TFL
Great colours..............decided to get a little different here and alter a small wooden box that I got at the $$$ Store. I used the Craft ink to "brown up" the edges. I find I am really loving the CC Craft and have been using a lot in place of paint..........much more convenient. The Photos didn't really capture the true colours of the project.
