We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
This week's challenge is an old technique called "Kissing." In fact, it was the first technique challenge ever on Splitcoast. (3/3/05) You can see the challenge here.
Kissing Definition: Ink up a background stamp with a dark color and leave it face up on your worktable. You will then need a bold stamp. There are two ways to do this. You can leave the bold stamp uninked or you can ink the bold stamp in a lighter coordinating color. Then you are going to use the BG stamp as your "ink pad" and then stamp on the cardstock as desired. If the pattern doesn't show well, consider using a more defined BG stamp, a darker color ink, or a bold stamp that is larger.
Just for fun: Since this is our 100th CAS challenge, tell us what your favorite CAS challenge has been so far when you link back to this thread!
KEYWORD:CAS100
It's also great to add the keyword: CAS so that you're in two galleries.
Leave some love for our tremendous & devoted design team. Here are some samples to help you get started:
Uploading: Remember the keyword is without spaces. Use a comma between keywords with a space after each comma.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

Can you believe it is CAS100? Wow. I love CAS and recieve such inspiration from the challenges. My favorite CAS challenge of this year is CAS90 GINGHAM AND CHECKS.Here is my CAS Guest Designer card for today's challenge.
Thanks for another great challenge and the chance (push) to revisit an old technique. I am not sure I have a favorite CAS challenge, just the fact that I am challenged to make something clean and simple (most of the time).
Thanks Jen, for challenge 100 - as I've mentioned in the description, my favorite CAS challenges are the sketches - love having a clean and simple one to work with! Here's my card today HE KNOWS
GREAT challenge and GREAT technique(new one to me), Jen!! Congratulations on #100!!
I feel CAS is one of my weaker styles...still working on it....so I really enjoy the challenges that give us a sketch. I feel that this gets me on the road even if I make wrong turns! : ) Thanks!!
what if you don't have a BG stamp? most of my sets are from SU and I am beginner @ this stamping business.... :( what other solution can you guys offer? Thanks!

Great question! Here's an alternative.
Ink up your bold stamp and set it on your table face up. Then use a lined designed stamp and press on the inked bold stamp to form a design. This is reverse of the original kissing because it is removing ink.

Here's my kissed card - this is my first CAS entry so I don't have a favorite for CAS so far but I'm looking forward to participating as often as I can!
You also asked what was a favorite CAS challenge. For me it was CAS71: Things that Fly. I loved this challenge because I used one of all-time favorite stampsets: Wonderful Wings and I did in vellum. Loved it!
Thanks for looking.
