The week of the 25th of each month, I make my ten cards and I also buy one or two Christmas gifts on my list.
This year, back in January, I bought four of those huge jar candles the ones that are like 12-15 dollars each, I got them for 75 cents a piece. So, I got my mil and step-mil (neither who celebrate christmas but we give a small gift to anyway) and my sons teachers each candle. $3 for all of them.
I love to pick up after Christmas sales in January to stock away for Christmas anyway, but I do try to get one or two gifts each month as well. But I do it the 25th, or around that, to coorelate with Christmas, LOL. Picked that up from organizedchristmas.com
Looking forward to some awesome cards in 09, y'all!!!

Count me in too, but I have a question. This year, I joined late, but I made not just Christmas but Rosh Hashanah, Thanksgiving and Halloween cards too. I want to make 10 "Holiday" cards per month, but frankly, I send perhaps 20 Christmas cards, and about as many Chanukah cards. We send more cards out for Rosh Hashanah than for any other holiday, with Halloween and Thanksgiving not far behind. Many of the cards I made for Christmas went to Cards for a Cause since I didn't need them.
Is the Chanukah/Christmas theme a strict rule? If so, that's okay, but I just want to know for sure going in, since last year, Lynne said it was okay to make them for any major holiday.
Hi Mary, if it is not too late, I would like to join. I am so thankful I found this challenge...I have only made 30 something cards this year so far and would love a challenge to get me motivated to them each month. Ten cards a month for me is good
Question: are we to make different one's? When I make my cards I usually make them all the same unless I run out of something and then I improvise or change it completely, but just wondering if we are to make all the same or different one's. Thanks!
Kana- thanks for the website...I am checking it out now...I love your tips for after Christmas shopping.
Mine change from month to month, and sometimes within a month. I could never make nearly 60 cards if they were all the same. I'd go crazy, LOL
Mary, I'm a very "unorganized, organized person", if that makes sense.
My mind revolves around lists, lists, and more lists. And don't think of deviating from the current list. One thing out of place, my day is ruined, LOL

I prefer the idea of keeping it Christmas/Hanukkah but you can do whatever you'd like- just don't stess! ;) Let me know if you still want to join!

Hello! No, it's never too late to join this challenge! Glad to have you!! You can make all of your cards the same or you can make each one different- it's up to YOU!
Okay. I'm hoping I can do it in 2009 because this year I dropped the ball. I want to lower my expectations, though, and sign up for five cards a month for the 11 months. I don't think I'll need more than that. And if I happen to make more, then that will be a bonus. =)
Thank you Mary for heading up the challenge this year.

Okay I have watched this thread for several months now or I should say 2008 thread. Thought about joining really late but then hoped you would do it again for 2009. So I am in. I can't wait. I love the tip to buy a few gifts here and there. I try to do the same thing through out the year. But have gotten out of the habit now. I also like to make most of my gifts. Last year I made all the teacher gifts which now this year my youngest is a freshman. I guess I am done making teacher gifts. Bummer!!! Oh well thanks for hosting again. I would love to send in somethings for the end of 2009 basket. Where do I send that?? Kathy

Cathy, I really appreciate your offer to help out!! I'll PM you my address.
I would love to do this my first time so quick question we don't have to mail them out every month right we keep what we make?
Welcome aboard! This is not a swap. You will make your specified number of cards each month and put them away to mail out to your friends and family at Christmastime. This challenge is designed to help you get all of your cards done throughout the year, stress-free, without having to worry about getting all your cards done in December!

Thanks please put me down for the 10 a month this is one way I can keep christmas all year long without the DH comlaining hehehehe
Woo Hoo! We're up to 40 strong!! Just think of the stress-free holidays we're going to have! Thanks to all who've joined!!
even with this I still won't be having a stress free holiday. DH will have just gotten back from parts dry sandy and Hostile, and apparently we are all expected to get the clan together at once all at the same time to surprise the in laws...in Upstate NY. where it snows. A LOT.. just before we are due to PCS..possibly to Japan...
I am going to have my own monogrammed seat at Rocky Run's Bar.....
I just uploaded my January card. I've never done this before, so Mary can you please check and see if I did it correctly? Thanks
You did great!! Congrats on having your January cards done! Now, if you could just post to the CCC-09-January thread that you've finished your January cards, that'll help keep me straight! ;)
Yeah, I definately need to get started earlier this year!! I thought I didn't have many cards to send out, so I sold a bunch as a fundraiser... now I am going mad making cards because I did up my list and realized "Oh man if I send one to that person I have to send to that person..." now I realized I need about 100 cards!!! EEEP.
Count me in for 10 cards a month. I haven't sent Christmas cards out in years, but I'd love to start again. I quit because I was always sooo stressed in December. This challenge should alleviate that problem. Thanks for the challenge!!

Hi Mary -- I'd like to participate. I probably only need 5 or 6 per month. No need to enter me into the draw. I'll just play along for fun and to see what all you great ladies create! ;)
Please sign me up as well! I've done this challenge for the past two years and have found it so very helpful! I can't believe that I went through my whole box of Christmas cards! I had a whole box full, and now they are gone! I will be busy working on my January cards this week since I'll be on vacation for the month of January.
Thanks for doing this challenge this year! I love making x-mas cards all year long!
YAY! I'm glad the post is started. I'm in for 09! Thanks for the challenge! And, I will start in January!
I only did 26 cards this year, though I need 81. I was intending to do all handmade cards this year. This morning I got up and realized that it wasn't going to happen. So, I counted the rest of the store bought cards I have, and it was like an omen. I have 83 cards including my handmade ones. So, I'm reducing stock and this is the LAST year of store bought. I've made cards in the past, and even my DH helps put them together.
