Hi everyone, a bit faster this month manely because I have been chomping at the bit to try this design out. I've had it in the back of my mind since October. Most of what you need to know is in the card discription but I did forget to mention that I used the little SU slit punch so that I could thread the ribbon through. Also to achieve the type of effect I get with the salt resist you need to have the paper quite wet, I spray once with my mini mister, then slosh the reinker ink on librally, then spray again, then add the rock salt, then spray again. If you try to dry the card off with a heat gun you don't get the same effect as letting it air dry however this takes about 24 hour, lots of patients but it's worth it.
Tomorrow after work it's clean the craft room night to get ready for VSN on Friday / Saturday here. Might even have time to get the sneek peek done. Woo Hoo
O and next months Christmas cards will be a design inspird by Christmas rapping paper from two years ago, hope they work out.
Here are this months cards
Cheers
Great card, Marg! Thanks for expanding on the technique. Congrats on completing your February challenge. Looking forward to your March!

I am making my cards for this February challenge as I can - may not be all alike. I found a number of inspiration challenges on blogs that I tried for this card, and I'm not sure yet what I will do for the other 4. Now, off to see what else has been made this month!
Pretty card! Left love. Nice challenge.

Is it ok to post just one card for now. I am so HAPPY that I got one done!!! What with dizziness and then today Crafter's block....I just so excited to have one done!!!! Going to keep working at this technique with 4 more cards and hope to improve on it but here is Nativity
Here is my card for February. I've had them done for about a week....but, just never got a picture done. As it was, the sky was a little overcast...so, you can't see the sparkle from the Stickles.
Here's my February design. I've made 11 so far but will keep making more as I'm having so much with this one. Using Copics without being concerned about shading which makes it fast and easy.
I make my mom's cards every year and she NEVER sends me one. She says it seems silly to send ME a card since I make so many...but I could live with that, you know?

Yay!!! I have my 5 completed!!!! I had another bout with the dizzies so it delayed completion. When I picked up the project again, I started off moving swiftly making 4 at a time...but then I kept making mistakes!!!!!!!! I think the end result is ok...if no one takes the magnifying glass to them!!! I had hoped to make a few more changes to this project but I am just not happy with my ability to make a good distress look yet. I see wonderful cards with torn and curling edges but mine don't turn out so the only change I made to the next 4 was to add more text so that the font was smaller on the BG.
I'm in to catch up today. First weekend hubby is home is always nuts. Then throw in a 3-day getaway for Valentine's day and I'm just lost :-) Can't wait to see what everyone has been up to.

Everyone has been doing so well with this challenge! I started late this month...the frenzy for 2011 holidays followed by January burst left me tired of Christmas and ready to do other stuff, and I threw myself into Valentines cards. I still kind of had to make myself think about a Christmas card but I'm glad I did because I am pretty pleased with what I came up with:
I started to make 8 of this to finish for the month but only had the steam for four, so I will tackle another card sometime this week! Glad there is an extra day in February this year!
