Great idea, Pat, but we've set themes for all the months this year. You should propose it for next year. And you know you don't have to follow the themes - they are just suggestions. Your cards can have any theme - the main goal is to fulfill your monthly quota you set for yourself.

I like following the themes! It really brings out my creativity. For example, I never would have thought to use pearls on Christmas cards. Thanks!
I like following the themes when possible, but I also like to "wing it" from time to time. I don't have too many furry creature stamps that I would choose to use this month, so I'll probably do half furry and half musical!
My June craft vacation was so productive! Most of my Christmas cards are done, and I posted them in my gallery and here by monthly theme. I don't know that I'll match every month't theme, and will have some of my fav theme in angels, but it feels good to not only have them done, but photographed AND posted! That's taken me some time...but I hope viewers enjoy my creations. There are no repeats from last year's collection. I still need to design something with a religious theme for some special folks. It's cooling down here, so I may work with my snowman theme to capture the winter's spirit! This has been a fun challenge for me, once I figured out where the themes were and what I wanted to do about them! Retired life sure gets me freed up for these fun projects and pretty neat results! Diane
I posted in January that my goal was 5 per month. That never happened. I've been challenged to keep up with the demand for non Christmas cards.
I went to my first crafting retreat last weekend and guess what I did...yup, made nothing but Christmas cards. I'd hoped for 75 but was so unprepared that each design was made up on the fly. I would get oh 3 to 5 of that design (not identical, all unique) and then would get bored. Since it is August I fell short of my annual goal which would be what, 8 x 5 = 40 Christmas cards. But, I have another chance to redeem myself! In 3 weeks I got into another retreat!
I plan to design and prep each set of cards. I know I get bored after 4 so will prep 4 of each design. I will prep 20 designs. I also brought WAY too much stuff. Whatever I did not touch last weekend I will stare at and mind meld with it. Do I really need you at the next retreat? If the answer is NO, then I will not bring it. My goal is 1/2 of what I brought.
I have to photo and edit all the images still and decide if I should load them all into the august tag. Many happen to be furry critters, but not all...
I am still feeling good about my progress. I have landed another gig selling these, so I do have to make them with a buyer in mind, not myself. After about 75 cards I can relax and get a little goofy...
My goal is to have plentiful inventory of all sorts of Christmas cards for gifts, for sending and for selling. I do NOT want to have to make ANY at the last minute

Reason: typo and one last statement...
Oh man, I just realized here it is October, and I HAVE NOT made a single Christmas Card. I had such great intentions.
This year has been so full of chaos! LOL
I do love the galleries, you have all done so many beautiful cards. I can see from my phone, but I can not comment, then when I'm sitting here on the laptop, I get side tracked with other things.
Dumb dumb me linked an email to my phone but not the one I have linked to my SCS, so I haven't gotten notifications...fixing that next.
Vikki Jo....great to hear from you!!! Yes, I seem to be in the same boat...the lack of Christmas cards being made recently! But, I'm working on that now!!!
Take care of yourself!

My stepson brings his new gf and 5 yr old up every weekend. I let her stamp once..will not make that mistake again.she wouldn't listen and had ink all over my glass table...thankful for glass. She had it all over her hands the ink pads and wood blocks.
I told her mom that wasn't gonna come off she shouldn't have given her those colors. She was stained for school. Lol
If I do the Challenge for 2016 I will be sure to remember that one!
speaking of which...... has anyone thought of being Hostess?
I have no problem setting them up for next year, I just feel really bad being such a slacker. LOL
Not having Internet at home makes keeping up so hard. I'm here at my moms at night, and I keep getting so INTO the family history stuff. On the happy side of that I've found a whole bunch of cousins from my mom's mom's nieces!
Okay, I know I had revamped my monthly quota somewhere , but evidently not on this thread...so, I had officially changing my quota to 5 per month...I discovered I had 36 left from last year, and I can't handle the pressure!!! LOL
Its just a reference for you so you know how many you "should' do a month so you have plenty come mailing time.
WHICH IS VERY CLOSE...especially if you are mailing to other countries.
Nope, no December. The challenge is January to November so you have them all done in time to get in the mail. I'm just getting mine started. Such a slacker this year. :(
Post them in November... so are you all some and ready to mal?

I am done but now need to go through and see which can be mailed and which hand delivered due to embellishments! I may also have to do the insides on a few. I will post the last four I did in the November thread then! Thanks.

I just keep posting mine in the November thread even if I do more than my monthly quota (which I usually do as I always need more!).

I live in a very small town. Population 136 . My post master became my #1 custimer:-) .
When she returned I had to buy a scale for at home and got a 'guide' from the post office. It has a slot for thickness.
I had so many cards that needed more one year. :-( I've learned over the years.
Its such an achievement to have less that get sent back. Its nice to catch them yourself or at least before they go out.
Vikkijo....thank you so much for all that you have done for this challenge over the years! I know I'm behind...funny how life gets in the way! Hoping to play catch up soon...otherwise, there is always another year....just waiting around the corner!!! ;)
