Important Information for all participants to this challenge
Hi everyone, I have had some questions recently on when to post and where. So I am going to try to clarify. Please, if there are any more questions let me know. I am new to this challenge so I am trying to work through the issues as they come up.
First, I just set up a Thread to be used to post your January cards. It is at Forums at Splitcoaststampers
If we all post to one place then it will be easier to keep track of everyone.
Second, we can begin to post on this thread on January 1st, 2007 at 12:00 Midnight EST. So that means all of you west coasters can actually start posting at 9 on New Years Eve.
I hope this all is clear for everyone. but let me know if it isn't.
can i join? i have never joined any thing here before...is there a way to get a message when someone posts their cards? any thing else i need to know or do?
i don't need 100 cards for christmas but maybe i can give some as gifts or sell some! i mailed my cards late this year and my dad STILL hasn't gotten his and it is the 30th of December! OOPS :(

You can subscribe to this thread under thread tools and you will be notified by email (if you choose) when someone has posted. Better yet, subscribe to the thread Lynne has a link to in post #284.

Thanks for helping out Holly!
I appreciate when others are watching out for this challenge. I am trying to keep and eye on things, but sometimes I just can't get to it quickly. I am glad when others help out.
Can I sign up? I have yet to participate in anything like this but I know I need to be making Christmas cards all year round if I want to be ready for next December! Thanks, Allison

This sounds like a great idea. I missed out on making cards this year because I got run down; and the whole Christmas thing at DD's school... this is an excellent idea to get ahead. Sign me up!

I told my husband (after nearly killing myself with SAB and Winter Mini Swaps AND Christmas cards) that I'm doing 10 cards a month. How fun to have some SCS sisters to do it with!! Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. I already have one in mind that I'm going to CASE for January - after I finish another set of SAB swaps and prep for my stamper's club meeting on Wednesday!! ACK!

OK, is anyone else petrified? I saw such cute cards this year and do not own a single snow man (tags don't count) OR a snowflake! I do have some ideas though for what I want to do before I buy those -- Oh, I have snowflakes, I have the little set from the mini this year -- DOH!
Even still you guys, I've never uploaded ANYTHING!
I want to join this challenge again this year! I had so much fun last year and had so many cards ready for December. All I had to stress over was sending them out!!! LOL! Thanks!!

It is so encouraging to see so many people in the same like mind as me! I did not send one single solitary card out this year and I DID have all the intentions of making them and sending them...did I ever learn a hard lesson! -There is no time in late Nov. / early Dec. to make cards. :( But this year will be different! Happy New Year everyone!! Cheers to our success at card making in the New Year!

I haven't sent cards in years, but I want to next year! What are the rules for participation?
There aren't a whole lot of rules. This challenge is for those who need a little "push" to get things going.
You decide how many cards you want to make and for how many months. No specific types of cards, you can do Holiday cards, thank you cards, etc. You don't need to use any particular brands. It is all up to you. You decide what you need out of this challenge and you do that. This is designed to help you have a less stressful time at the holidays. So many of us, scramble as the holiday gets closer, just to get our cards out to friends and family.
The thing that makes this fun is, the first one to post their cards for each month will win a prize. Look at post 284 to get the link to where to post your cards.
Then, for each month that you complete the challenge, your name will go into a draw for a prize basket at the end of the year.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.
I did two Christmas cards last night! I am so excited that I actually have a start on my cards for this year. My husband so thought I was crazy when he asked me what I was doing I told him I was making Christmas cards for next Christmas, he just looked at me really funny! Now I just have 8 more to go for January, and then comes the hard part of actually figuring out how to get them onto here! I am so new, and don't even have my own gallery yet. And my cards are so plain and simple compared to all of yours. I can't wait to do some cards using some of the techniques that I have seen on here!
Good for you Jen! What a great beginning! You should be proud of yourself. I can tell that you are going to get to your goal.
When you are ready to upload your cards, you can look on the home page and on the left hand side there is a place to click on to Upload. It is pretty easy. First you need to take a picture or scan your card. Then click on the upload link and it will take you through the upload process.
I know that I have seen instructions on how to link an uploaded picture to a post. I will look around and see if I can find them and add them to this post for others who haven't done it before. So Jen, don't worry, you are not alone!
