please read the special restrictions section carefully. Winter has been giving cards at valentines to hospitals and foster homes for many years, she and her family pull this off. They take in over 3000-4000 cards in one month...thank you for your help! With that said it is very important that we help them by following the guidelines. Please get your cards mailed out so that Winter has them by the last day of the month...this means you will have to mail them out earlier, the week of Jan. 23.

this is a great month friends to create CAS cards, quick and easy with not a lot of fuss. Colored sweet images would be great too. It will surely be a challenge for me, but hey we can do it for the children!

This is one of my favorite causes. I think this will be the 4th year I've donated to it.
To answer the question about card size, according to the email I got from Winter, cards must be able to fit in an A2 envelope that she provides. So they can be A2 or smaller, but not bigger.

thanks everyone for your support! I must say this is a hard one for me, I always use some type of glitter or shine. I made a few cards yesterday and kept smacking my own hand as I reached for the stickles and gems! :?

Me too, Teresa. I have all these adorable heart shaped gems and beaded hearts to use and I put them all back. I did find some good simple ideas on Pinterest, that's why I asked about the Washi tape.

"* You can include a message in the inside, but please remember, nothing reminding them of being sick. (Maybe just a Valentine sentiment.) You can also sign your first name and what state you are from ONLY, no last names and cities! No religious sentiments either, as most of the hospitals are non denominational in their beliefs."

I would like to join in this cause I would like to verify some rules. Do you want just a one dimensional card such as just stamped and colored. Not any glued on paper either. those can be taken off and put in mouth. Kinda like the cards that we got when kids at school?

welcome and thank you for joining us! I think layers are fine, it is only things that can be picked off, gems, sequins, glitter, staples, even paper flowers. Thinking simpler is probably best, but layered card stock is fine.
