A LITTLE BACKGROUND INFORMATION::
The proper name for this organization is Humane Society of Concord and Great Cabarrus County. They call it the shelter or HSOC for brevitys sake. Jennifer personally lives in that county, town of Harrisburg; which is a suburb of Charlotte, NC. Here is the website. If you choose to peruse the site, any reference to "the shelter" refers to the pound where Jennifer volunteers at. They are replacing the building with a new facility. The website says they take dogs and puppies and sometimes a cat or kitten or two. Thats kinda funny since they have two rooms full of cats.

Do me a favor please?
I have started a poll as a way of counting the cards mailed to the recipient this month. Please let us know how many you mailed by participating in this month's Let's Count the Cards poll. Click here to record your participation! We will see if this works! Yikes!
Thank YOU for making a difference with your stamping!!
I have one more of these cards ... and I think this organization will find the perfect home for it I will mail it out in the next set of cards that I mail out.
I have 12 cards packaged and ready to go to the post office tomorrow. I've uploaded eight and the rest were from my stash that had been previously uploaded. I'm going now to enter mine in the count.
Hey Pam! I bet the would like any thank you cards.......the reason is, they might be able to use them in a gift basket or something for a fund raiser! Just a thought...but I think animal or no animals, thank you cards would be awesome for them......
Thanks for all you do for us. I will be making more later, but have been playing for myself also. I will not enter these in the count until I know I am done and ready to mail all of them. Thanks. Rita
got 5 cards done and will get in mail next week. having computer issues or would link here but they are in my gallery as they are part of my sketch challenge
Hi everyone, this is Jennifer Clark/binx. I hope I'm not voiding some protocol by posting to this thread.
I am SO excited oh, and honored as well that Mothermark chose us as a charity worthy enough of y'all's wonderful intentions. We love animals, but as we are reminded far too often by the neglected and abused animals that come into our care, not everyone is.
Being a charity, we'll take any thank you card and be grateful for it. Blank cards are good too. As Mothermark said, we'll give these cards to adopting families, but if we have enough, we'll also be able send them to our many donors. Those are especially good now since we're going to be moving into a new (to us), larger faciity soon and have lots of donors (individual and corporate) helping with this acquisition.
I am so looking forward to receiving y'all artwork and eager to share it with the others at the shelter; they'll be excited too.
BTW, I'm currently fostering 3 adorable, very small pups that had to be taken away from their mama b/c she was too sick to nurse them - anyone want a boxer? LOL!
Hi Jennifer Clark/binx. Glad to see you post! It is nice to put a personal connection to the RAKs You are doing such a kind service. Thanks for what you do, and blessings to you. Lela
Jill...this will be a fun one for your grandkids...I hope that is going well...such a great idea for school credit! Thanks so much.....ONE is awesome.....we can do alot by doing ONE at a time!
Jennifer! Whoo hoo! Glad you are here! I meant to send you a pm that I had posted the challenge but this old brain forgot to! Thanks for giving us some more details about the recipient! I know you will get lots of wonderful cards as the SCSer's always come through for a great cause! Keep up the good work Jennifer! I hope you find loving homes for the boxers...I have a friend who is boxer crazy but no more room for new doggies!
Serenity Stamper.....YOU are one of those SCSer's who always comes through for a cause! Thank YOU! you rock!
I found you! Read through this, and hope to be able to contribute. I made a card, but I'm afraid it look way more like a scrapbook page than a card, even though it is A2 size...
Are we supposed to include an envelope along with each card?
Well, this is the first I've done, but I hope to make the rest look more like a greeting card and less like a scrapbook page.
I'm using up lots of animal images I have, and hope to ink up a set of stamps that came free with a magazine.
Hi all, Yesterday I got to play again and I made seven of this card for the doggies and kitties. I will not add these to the count until I am finished for the month. TFL Rita

(blush) Thanks, Jill! I thought it looked too busy at first, since that's my style, but in scrapbooks I have a square foot to work with, but after lots of positive comments from my best buds, I'm starting to feel comfortable with it.
Too bad I can't make more than 1! I'm trying to use as many scraps as I can, and those patterned papers I only had a few of in small sizes.
Will try to incorporate fun techniques in the next few I make. I think I'm thoroughly enjoying making cards!

Yay! Here you are! Na uh....it does not look like a scrapbook page! It looks like a card! Whoo hoo! This is perfect for this challenge! I love its happiness...We will turn you into a card maker before the month is through! Giggle! I bet your scrapbook pages are wonderful....so don't quit doing those!
It would be nice to include an envelope if you have one but I imagine if they get several cards with no envelops they can pick up a small package at the office supply store....Jennifer? Whats you feeling on that?
I look forward to seeing what you come up with next, with your free magazine stamp set! Thanks so much!

Did 2 more... boy am I out of practice making shakers.
And these are precious too! You are not a cardmaker and you did a shaker??? You go girl! These are awesome....can't you just see some kid who just got a new puppy at the shelter who gets this card as a thank you, shaking it like nobody can shake it before!!!! These both are awesome! Whoo hoo!
I am glad you are having fun making cards! And arent' we lucky you are!!!
lol, yes, I like to make shakers to use as elements on the pages. WAY cheaper than buying shaker embellishments.
This is fun, but it certainly is a challenge working in such a small area. I have tons of envelopes from a bulk buy by a relative that forgot to take them with her and now it costs more to ship them to where she is than it costs to get the envelopes over there!
I have 3 cards finished and working on 3 more. When I first read what this month's org. I didn't think I'd be able to make cards because I didn't think I had any dog or cat stamps. I started digging through my older stamps and there they were - I actually have 3 different stamps. Who knew?
* forgot to follow through on what I was getting to on the previous post - scatterbrained...
I can send mine with envelopes plus about 50 or so if Jennifer needs them? I have lots more, if the need arises for them. However, they're the standard size, for 5 1/5 x 4 1/4 cards, so these won't fit bigger cards...
#1 - They don't have to include cat or dog stamps; the association is obvious but by no means necessary. ETA: I've received some with flowers and some with hearts - they are beautiful.
#2 - Any and all envelopes will be appreciated. However, if you forget or don't have any, not to worry, I'll fill in the gaps before I take them to the shelter.
I've started getting the cards, and, may I say DARLING? Wish I could make cards this well. So you know they arrive safe and sound, I will PM (or email if indicated) you each when I get your cards. I know I hate wondering whether or not my pkg makes it to its destination, so I won't do that to you.
Diane! Whoo hoo! A find for sure! I cringe at the thought about what is in my stamp room that I don't know is in my stamp room! Ha! Thanks so much!
Pixxie......awesome about the envelops! You and Jennifer can be in touch is she needs them that way you won't have to pay extra postage if she doesnt!
Jennifer! Thanks for the additional information and for following up with the notification that the cards were received! Awesome girlfriend!
Hi Jill! I am off to check out your cards shortly! The ones in the quick thumbnail are awesome! You keep on top of those grandkids, ya hear!! Snort!
Stamp Wizard ~ Sandra! So glad you found us too! Just wanted to give you a heads up that I will be posting a NEW thread for each month so you will have to subscribe to each new thread if you chose.......But you can always send me a pm if you can't get back to us and I can send you a link to get you where you want to go. Hugs, girlfriend!
Did a few more. Am using up my stash. Feels good, not having had to buy anything to make these!
I've joined the cold turkey challenge, and every time I see the thread participants post their progress, I get inspired to use up more and more stuff. I literally haven't made a dent on my supplies- I have that much stuff. But I like that I've been given a reason to delve into card making and practice this art. It's very fun, and the huge bonus is that it's for a wonderful cause. I'm starting to train myself to go create every time I have a spending craving. Becoming very productive, I am. lol
ha ha! Your pocketbook will love ya for it! All three are just precious! I love the thank you for giving me a home sentiment! How very appropriate! You go girl....you just might put a dent in the stash yet! Giggle! So awesome! Jennifer will be so tickled to see these! You stash denting is the shelter's gain!
How is everyone's Valentine's Day going??
I'm spending the evening warm & cozy with my two kitties! Oh, and I'll be working on some swaps too. ;) Gotta work on these cards too!
I put together over 75 cards for our troops in Afganistan over the weekend. Will mail them out tomorrow.
