Hi Everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read this post! I am very
excited to get started with this month’s Card for a Cause sponsored group. This month will be MultiCare Regional Cancer Center, a network affiliate of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. My step-father passed away from lung cancer last January and the care and attention that the doctors and nurses provided to him was inspirational. The facility treats all types of cancer, not just lung. Patients sit for long hours getting their treatment and I think it would really help boost their moral to know that a complete stranger thought
about them and made them a card just for encouragement and hope. I hope
that you will join me in this important cause to support and lift up
individuals that are battling with cancer.
There are no restrictions for your card donations. Anything that you can do
to help and encourage would be much appreciated. Some ideas for the cards
would be: Hello, Hi, Thinking of you, Thank you, Wishing you all the
best, Greetings, Warm Wishes, Let Your Light Shine, Smile...Someone's Thinking of You, Happy Birthday(for anyone that may be celebrating a birthday), Get Well Soon, and Biblical messages. Please leave them blank inside. I have a pre-printed message that I stick inside each card. Please try and send an envelope along with your card, if possible.
I'll be sure and update how many cards we have donated. Feel free to
post a link to the cards that you have made so we can all see your work! :0)
Please have your cards to me no later than July 31st.
Send them to this address:
Cards for a Cause #08
5316 25th Ave NW
Gig Harbor, WA 98335
Please do not hesitate to ask questions. Thank you in advance to all
that can participate! I know they will appreciate them dearly. :0) Julie.
Welcome, Julie, and THANK YOU for taking on Cards for a Cause. I love making cards for the pure joy of making them so it's good to have a use for them.
You might remind card donors to upload their cards to the gallery with keyword CFC08. Previous CFC threads included the following (## is replaced with the CFC number, in this case 08].
Upload your cards to whatever stamp gallery they belong in, and use the keyword CFC##. That way, we can all check the CFC## gallery to see how many cards we are sending!
Thanks again for organizing CFC. I'll be sending some cards your way (after I make them!).

Thank you for the reminder on posting the cards to the attention of CFC08. It will be exciting to see them! :0) Have a great day! Sincerely, Julie. :0)
Good question! :0) I use a pre-printed message that I put inside the cards. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions. Have a great day and thank you for your interest in making cards. Sincerely, Julie. :0)
The postage is completely up to you. I will send the cards off in a box. They will send them out to individuals once they receive them. It would be helpful to them so if you do have some extras that would be wonderful, though not required. Thank you for your question. Sincerely, Julie. :0)
I wanted to let you know that I have received cards from Sandy in Ky, Joyce from CA and first inital D from West Salem, OH. Thank you for supporting such a great cause. XOXO, Julie.
Hi Julie -- My cards are postal today (yes, the PO was open till noon and DH took the package for me). Thank you for finding this worthy cause for our creative endeavors. Here's a sneak peak of my card: All the Best for CFC08 by Muffin's Mama at Splitcoaststampers.
Happy Independence Day everyone!

Hi Terrie from Washington, DC! I received your card donations today. They are so great. I love the poem that you had for what cancer can not do:
What Cancer Cannot Do
Cancer is so limited...
It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot destroy peace
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot suppress memories
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot steal eternal life
It cannot conquer the spirit.
I think this is so powerful. I'm going to include that in some of the cards that I am making. Better yet, I think I will incorporate this in the message that I type up to goes inside the cards. Thank you for the inspiration! Have a Safe and Happy 4th! XOXO Julie. :0)
Hey everyone! I just counted the cards that we have so far and we have total of 51! I think that is an excellent start considering we are still making them until the end of this month! Thank you everyone! :0)
I am going to donate my day to making cards for your cause - I have been thinking that I need to do more with my addiction! Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi last name Robertson from TX! I received your cards today! How cute! :0) The saying..."Thought you could use a little pickup!" is so fitting for what they are going through. The tree symbolizing growth is perfect as well. Thank you so sharing your talent! :0) Julie.
I received your cards today. They are so sweet. The flower and the design, just too cute! :0) Thank you! Julie
Julie -- Thanks for letting me know they arrived and for the kind words. The layout and stamp set are from a stamp camp back in 2004 and they're still some of my favorites!

Julie,
Thank-you for letting me know you received my cards. You are so kind and thoughtful - not only to take on this project - but to also take the time to send nice words to all of those who are contributing cards. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Thank you for your kind words. :0) It's my pleasure to respond to each and every person that sends card to the Cards for a Cause mission. I think it's the least that I could do to let everyone know that your cards made it safe and sound after putting all the hard work and effort into making and sending them. Have a terrific day as well! It's almost the weekend. Yea! :0) XOXO Julie.
Just a quick note to let you know that I received your cards today. I love the cards that you made. They are so cute! All the little embellishments..the skittles, swirly paper clips, brads, and not to mention the heart charms. I love some of the saying on your cards...."We can not direct the wind but we can adjust our sails." "Precious to me." "Life may not be the we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance."
My stepfather was a commercial fisherman and raised me since I was 2. When he was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer he was only 62. He had retired and was ready to travel the world. He kept repeating, "God clipped my wings, I just don't understand why." I had no words to say to him at the time so I prayed about it and felt that I had a response when or if he ever said those words again. I was with Dad and he said it again, " I just don't understand why God clipped my wings." I said to him, "Dad, God didn't clip your wings, your work here is done and He needs you so he's bringing you home." I also said, "Dad, this is not the end but only the beginning and until we meet again."
Your cards and words reminded me of how we should dance and be thankful for what we do have. God Bless you and thank you again! Julie. XOXO
Cindy from Chatham, NJ I received your cards today. I love your cards. I never thought of putting brads into the ribbon, so creative. I love the ribbon that you used too. I know they will be tickled once they receive them. Thank you so much for taking the time to much such beautiful cards for such a worthy cause. :0) XOXO Julie.
Julie -- 90 cards! WOW! I love how you are taking the time to post when you receive cards and saying something about the cards. It's making me wish I could see them all. I've searched the gallery for CFC08, but not everyone seems to have uploaded. Would you consider taking a pic or two and posting in your gallery at some point? Just a thought; I know it would be a bunch of extra effort for you, but I'm sure everyone would love to see all the beautiful donations. Thanks again for taking up the CFC mission!

Thank you for your words of encouragement. I'm hoping everyone would take the time to post their own photos, but what I do plan on doing is taking a picture of the entire bunch and post a HD video(trying to figure out the details on that...may use YouTube and add a link) of when they are all here. That way people can zoom in and freeze to take a closer look at something that may catch their eye and want to see further details. I really appreciate the feed back and can understand your point of view. I think others share your point a view as well and with a few gentle reminders (via posts from me and reading through yours. ;0) ) I feel we can achieve the goal of having more photos posted. All the best to you! XOXO Julie.

Hi Everyone! I had a private message sent from one of the wonderful ladies that sent in cards. She mentioned that some of the cards she had donated were from swaps that she was part of. I think it's so wonderful that cards you have made as well as others that you do not use any longer can be given to such a great cause. In this case, she has asked that I don't post, photography or video the cards that she sent in since not all were made by her. If anyone else would prefer that I don't photograph or use them in a video, please let me know and I will be happy to accommodate this request. . :0) I have kept cards orderly(by name) so it would be quick for me to know which cards I should leave out of the photo or video if you prefer. Just let me know. Thanks so much! Happy Stamping Everyone! XOXO Julie.
Hi J. Brachet from Washington I received your cards. I love the Bella stamp line and seeing all the fun designs makes me want them even more!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to stamp the blank "Cause Bella's" for me. I will get to work on those and make some like yours. :0) I can't thank you enough for all the cards that you sent. We are now up to 120 cards!!! Thank you so much for all your time and effort into making them so special! Blessings to you!!! XOXO Julie.
One more question...I have my box ready to go... I think I had seen an address that had a PO Box? Am I dreaming? LOL anyway they will go out today from Canada so I hope they get there in time. If not I am sure you can use them for the next cause. I forgot to count but I am thinking its around 20?

Hi Carla-
Please ship the CFC08 to my home address. I keep it separate from the PO Box(I have to keep accounting correct for my non-profit organization, Compassionate Cards) so that I can know which cards are for who. They are all going to the same place this time, but I want to make sure and note where they came in from. If you could please send them to this address below that would be wonderful:
Cards for Cause #08
5316 25th Ave NW
Gig Harbor, WA 98335
If you have already sent the cards, no worries I can tell by how the package is addressed that it's for the CFC08 Mission. If your cards arrive a little after wards I will still bring them into the Cancer Care Alliance. They are within walking distance of me. :0)
Thank you so much for all your help in making the cards! :0) XOXO Julie.
Hi Rita from Vancouver, WA I received your cards today! They got here so quick, only took one day! This brings our total to 132!! I love the googly eyes that you added to some of the animals on your cards. :0) I like the punched out hearts with the different color card stock peeking thru. Nice job! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with others! Have a blessed day! XOXO Julie.

Thanks Julie for letting me know that the cards arrived. You are welcome for the images. I hope you'll be able to use them!
Hi Julie,
I appreciate you letting me know the cards have safely arrived ( I am amazed at how quickly they got there ). As I mentioned before, I had fun working on them and I am glad they meet with your approval. So, am I correct in thinking you have an on going card drive for different missions? I would be more than happy to make more in the future, if that is the case. Just let me know.
