Hi Everyone! We have been contacted by a previous group who has a special project they are starting and would like some help. If you have some time or extra cards you would like to donate it would be greatly appreciated. I will just cut and paste the information in this post. I do not have an updated address yet but should receive that on Monday and will add it when I get it...but wanted to let you all know so that if you wanted to start working on something for them you could.....as I get more details I will post them....but for now here is what I know:
My name is Monica Lomeli. I'm one of the Volunteer Coordinator's at Hospice of St. Francis (Now St. Francis Reflections). For the past 5 years, we have been receiving wonderful donations from you all of hand made cards for us to provide to our hospice patients and their families. We wanted to reach out and see if it would be possible to request some occasion specific cards for a new service we are wanting to provide to our patients. What we are working on is providing a special service to patients/families during special occasions and holidays like. So we were really hoping to get some Birthday, Anniversary and perhaps Valentine’s Day specific cards (if it’s not too late of notice), maybe some military veteran type cards and perhaps other holidays as well. We are still working on this service and so we really just wanted to reach out to see if this type of request was even a possibility.
Monica sent me an email and said that she is working on getting the details...I expect I will hear from her tomorrow so I hope to be able to post more details tomorrow and also the address of where to send them. They have 2 locations and I'm not sure which one she will want the cards sent to...so stay tuned.
Y'all are amazing!!!! Monica sent me the address today....Please mail cards to:
ST. FRANCIS REFLECTIONS
ATTN: VOLUNTEER SERVICES DEPARTMENT
1250-B GRUMMAN PL
TITUSVILLE, FL 32780
Please remember to either include a slip of paper saying you are with the Cards For A Cause group or indicate that on the return address....that way they can keep track of what comes from our group.
Thank you again for all you do!!!! Giant HUGS to you all!!!!
Great question! If envelopes are sent they would greatly appreciate them...but if envelopes aren't available that is ok too. They are thrilled with whatever is provided.
I'm new to the forums (they've always intimidated me, so I mostly look at tutorials and galleries). Finally digging around, and I'm interested helping out with one of the causes. But I'm not 100% clear -- are we sending blank cards so they can use as needed, or cards with notes of support already written in them? Or perhaps it varies from cause to cause . . .
My teenager just graduated high school early, and I'm not letting her loose for college with covid-19, so we're looking for something productive for her to do. We both enjoy cardmaking, so this would be good for us.
Welcome Lisa!! So glad you have joined us!!! I know sometimes SCS can be intimidating at times but jump right in and soon it will be a breeze.
The cards we send are blank cards for the organization to use as they need - for their clients, their volunteers, or their donors. We have a monthly cause we support every month and then a times a special project comes along (like this one) that we also help with during the same month. There is also a list of ongoing causes - groups that receive cards any time. I need to get that updated.
If you have any questions feel free to ask them within the group or you are welcome to PM me or email me directly at [email protected].
Blessings!

Hi Zella: Count me in for the St Francis Reflections project. I have valentines up and ready to go. Titusville, FL is right up the road from me so they will get there in time. Sarge
I would love to make some cards for veterans and send them. I used to make cards for Operation Write Home and have stamps that work perfectly for veterans and military. Thanks for posting the address.

Karen,
I was an OWH stamper too and I do miss that organization. Love that you can use your stamps for this cause. I will have to dig out some of my stamps I used for that too. And, W.H.E.A.T., which is coming up later this year is similar to OWH so I think you would enjoy making cards for them too.
My package was posted this morning.
USPS Tracking No. 9505 5143 1067 1043 3849 39
Estimated Delivery Date of Tuesday, January 16.
My three themes were Military, Easter, and Love (for Anniversary).
Hello everyone! I received this email from Monica at St. Francis Reflections....if anyone can assist with their request that would be wonderful. Thanks for all you have done so far!!!......
I wanted to share with you that we received some beautiful donations of Valentine’s Day cards that we were able to utilize and we are just so thankful! We actually have our Volunteer Appreciation coming up in April and wanted to see if we could put in a request for some more of those beautiful cards!!We were hoping to get cards that are spring themed with/without words of appreciation for our amazing hospice volunteers. We will have about 140-150 volunteers that we plan on celebrating via a drive-thru event (due to COVID). We were hoping to include cards in their gift bags.
Is it possible to spread the word on this? We would be extremely grateful.

It's a cold rainy day here - no snow, just ice on trees in NC so I will get out my flower stamps and get cracking .
I would say anything that would be in the vein of appreciation...not only thank you for what you do but we appreciate you...appreciate your service...that kind of thing. You can also leave them blank so they can write their own notes in them.

I had mailed 24 ThankYou and Blank cards to them a cupla weeks ago - and forgot to post it here.
I've just seen the new request - and i'll look and see what I've got that will help! !
I finished 50 thank you cards last night for St Francis Reflections. As I live in the same county as this organization, I believe it will be less expensive to deliver them than it would be to post them. I have left a message at their volunteer office to see when I could drop them off.
