This is just North of Naperville in Wheaton Illinois. It is just North of tollway 1-88 on the Naperville Road exit.
The times are good to avoid Rush hour and there are alot of places to eat/shop around the Danada area (which you drive right by to get to the workshop).
Do you know the location address.... I tried to email her but can't get her email on my computer...... I'll have to wait for someone more computer literate than me to come home tonight..... I live in Downers Grove so it would be great to see her wonderful techniques and so close. Carol
I just heard from Michelle. There's both beginner and advanced classes on friday and Saturday. Each class is $125 which includes everything but you need to bring scissors and your adhesive. Sounds awesome.
I just heard from Michelle too....."the workshop fee includes a great supply package that the attendees get to take home" and that includes a
Brayer, stamp set, acrylic block, white gel pen, stamping mat. I guess that makes the workshop even cheaper!!!!! (I am going to try that on my husband!!!)
This would make a lovely Valentine's gift from my husband to myself....... And, then there is an anniversary as well.......... hahahaha
I live in the area- so if anyone needs Hotel info or anything, drop me a line. The location of the seminar is right of the expressway (I-88 exits at Naperville Road) and it's a straight shot up Naperville Road which is just a few miles. And, lots of shopping around here too!
I look forward to seeing everyone again- Jean- yes- I do remember you as well. Are you planning on coming to the seminar? What fun!
So, I have signed up for a Beginning class on Friday, and the advanced class on Saturday. Is anyone else going to come? What classes are you signed up for???
I am signed up for Friday Am and Saturday afternoon. I have a friend that is doing the same classes and times.
I am looking forward to learning how to use my brayer to make the colors come alive on my cards like Michelle does........I know that sounds corny, but I just LOVE Michelle's way with color......
I really like the tutorials that are listed on her blog in the step by step fashion.
I just signed up for the beginner class on Saturday!
Me too! I'm so excited. I just joined the SCS forum about half and hour ago, and already I found out something fun! I'm looking forward to that workshop on the 14th :-D
Well, I am unable to go...which leaves room for someone who lives closer.
However, I just signed up for a beginner workshop in Covington IN on May 16th!! It's just 15 minutes from my house WooHoo!!
WOW! This may be do-able! I've been to Covington a couple times...The Beef House! I'm a little farther than 15 minutes but a couple hour drive will be so worth it! I hope to register for this class!
I just read on Michelle's blog post that Sat AM is closed already- wow- there is over a month until she comes here- i am glad I reserved a spot already! I also read on her blog all of the supplies we get to keep after the class-here is a copy:
Beginning Brayer Workshops
The beginner brayer workshop is a 3 hour workshop. You will learn and leave the workshop feeling very comfortable about your brayering skills. You will complete at least 3 projects and receive a kit for you to take home that includes a Speedball brayer, Darice Stamping Mat, Innovative Stamp Creations Stamp Set, Acrylic Block and a White Gel pen. These items will help you with your continued success with your new brayering skill after you get home.
The advanced brayer workshop takes you to the next level and is 3 1/2 hours long. You will complete at least 3 projects. You will learn to utilize the emboss resist technique and how to a add elements in your scenes using masking. You will also receive a kit to take home with you that consist of a New Stamp set, Larger Acrylic Block, Versamark Pad and Versamark Marker. You need to take the beginner workshop before signing up for the advanced workshop. I do not teach brayering in the advanced workshop although the technique is used in each project.
Hello again- my friend decided to sign up with me Friday AM, and she says there are not too many spaces left in these classes-Sat AM was all sold out, and there were only 2 spaces left in the advanced class.
If anyone that reads this is from out of town, I set aside a coupon for Springhill Suites by Marriot (4305 Weaver Parkway in Warrenville)- they have an ad for $88.00 per night that included Large Pizza and pop, in room movie with popcorn and a full hot breakfast. Must mention coupon for discount. (Free internet and indoor pool). PM me if you would like more info- I think this is a pretty good deal for this area.
Hi Shelly,
I am also coming on Friday-in the afternoon for the beginner class, and on Saturday afternoon for the Advanced class. Are those the classes you are taking? I am looking forward to the class and hope to see you there!
If anyone is coming that reads here- I e-mailed Michelle about meeting for Chicago style Pizza in Wheaton-she said she would be up for it, So, please reply or PM me if you are coming to one of the classes and would like to have pizza for dinner one of the nights with Michelle
Yes- but if she does 3 beginner classes and one advanced- 40 students- it would only be about $10 each student......if airfare was $400.00,.......if you have someone that would welcome her to stay at their home.........
I would say go for it!!! I am so ooking forward to Michelle's workshop- I have had no time to stamp lately- and I know I will be making GORGEOUS cards! Wahoo!
I am headed to Ohio State Univ and then No Ky this weekend- only 2 weeks till she is here! Fun, Fun!
