Default Went to Michaels today

I wanted to pick up some more $1 stamps. I also got two rubber stamps that were on sale. But I found out--they have a whole Tim Holtz section now but it was empty. I asked when they were going to have the stuff there. There were still some Distress Stickles so maybe they sold out and I'm going to have to wait until they unload on Tuesday. I really want some of his fragments. Hopefully they will also get the lights and brights alcohol inks.

And they I noticed they had Autumn Leaves acrylic stamps and brand new wood mounted rubber stamps. Oh man, I'm going to have watch myself!!!

I went to Michael's today to see if they had anything of particular interest. Not much luck, though--the store was closed due to the major snow storm. This is the first time I've ever seen the store closed when it would normally be open.

I just came back from Michaels. They had tons of things on clearance and lots of new tags coming in on their shelves for new things like new stamps, whoo who! You need to check out their new line of punches, also.

Same at mine. I asked one of the girls about the stamps and she said she didn't know what brand they were, and that they wouldn't be in until Wednesday. Then I noticed the end cap display of all the new EK Success punches. Looks like a whole bunch of new stuff coming. I hope we get some Tim Holtz stuff, too. Right now it's just a few ink pads and stuff. Not the whole line.

I think I read somewhere they will be carrying Tim Holtz stamps as well. I really hope so! Does anyone know if this is only in the "new" Michaels or will all Michael's have it?

I have a TON of alcohol inks, but not sure what to do with them. Suggestions?

Thanks

This is exactly why I love Splitcoast--I never knew about Tim Holtz. I went to his website and WOW fell in love with the stamps. What a wonderful, fun, meaningful collection!

Thanks for sharing.

Well don't forget to comment on his blog! He's giving away stuff to 5 lucky winners each day this week. Who knows? Maybe you'll get some of those cool stamps he has!

Well I thought they were sold out because the Distress Stickles were there but not the mini-masks or the fragments or some of the other Tim Holtz stuff. But it was a wide open space so maybe it will be in. Our Michaels is only about 5 years old but it's not like the newer ones. I saw the new punches and I'm in love with them. But I want the Tim Holtz stuff first! There's also a space in the clear stamps area. I didn't read the little cards so maybe they're getting in his stamps too. Cool beans!

I use alcohol inks on glass and glossy cardstock and vellum. On some of my ATCs I will use it and design my own background. I can also then stamp on it. I have some glass bowls that were just clear and I was able to decorate them with alcohol inks.

I'm anxiously waiting for the new stamps to go up at our Michaels. The shelves are practically bare and have been that way for over a week. They do have the new EK Success border punches (got 2 of them). I have a $50 gift card and want some new stamps.

Default Michaels in MN

I am in the Twin Cities in Minnesota and I asked yesterday if our Michaels would be getting "rehabbed" and if we would be getting the new stamps, etc.
sadly, I was told that the closest store to us that is planned to be re-done is in Eau Claire, WI (2 hours away)! :(

Obviously I'm not a very patient person. I went to Michaels yesterday and, woohoo, they had some of the Tim Holtz stuff in. I got the charm fragments which I think are so cool, one mask and saw where there were places for his stamps and more of his distress ink pads. They also had some of the metal things that he uses but I'm not sure about getting those yet.

I did, however, indulge in three new sets of clear stamps just because. And two $1 stamps. I had a 20 percent off entire regular priced purchase coupon that I got out of one of the mags. I have another one that is good until April something that I got out of the recent issue of Scrapbooks Etc.

Wow and thank you!

I had no idea these inks could do so much!

Thank you.

Just came from Michael'snd YES, they had a small section for Tim Holtz goodies - clear stamps, distress stickles, fragment charms, lots of metal thingies, and spaces for ink pads - w00t! And they are now carrying Stampendous clear and wood mounted stamps. Got me another monkey! They have restocked their single sheet papers and they are more spendy.

My Michael's in Lakewood Ranch Florida is only a few months old. It has been out of rubber stamps--really just bare--since Christmas. I went today and I asked them if they were getting Tim Holtz and they showed me several empty rods that they were going to put the clear sets on--but they did not know when.

At least I have this to look forward to!

Ditto. Also, the usual wood stamps they have were almost completely gone. It will be interesting to see what they put in. I noticed, too, that the paper packs they've gotten recently are a bit spendy as well.
