I am now the owner of a zoo!!! LOL!!! No, not really, but it was either a new puppy or get pregnant again. I went for the puppy!!
This is Samson. He is half Beagle half Dachsund. I adopted him from a shelter here in town yesterday. He is such a sweet puppy!! My kids have been carrying him around since we got him and he doesn't even care. He is so cute!! I just wanted to share with you all!!
Love the puppy eyes on that guy!!!! I keep telling people that we had to do something, this year. Usually about this time I tell everyone that I will be having a baby in winter, instead we got a PB Shih Tzu (free)!!!! No labour pains, no stretch marks, no diapers, no getting up at night. He has dark hair and eyes like the rest of us, so we had to take him! Our new Beta fish (a rescue from a friend) doesn't make a peep at night either!!!! His name is Strawberry! So, 4 kids, one hubby, 1 dog, and 1 fish. That's enough for me!
The pup is the cutest ever! His eyes are so big and rimmed in black....wow....what a dog! AND look at those paws.......may be growing a lot to fit those! Congratulations!
I did the same thing! After I had my two sons, I started with the puppies! We have a 2 year old female Westie and a 5 month old female Shih Tsu. I had to get my girls somehow! Lots of luck! The puppy stage can be difficult, but worth it! It is great for the kids to learn about responsibility, compassion, and how to treat animals. No regrets! He seems so sweet! Unfortunately, our shelters around here typically only have large dogs. We would have loved to rescue a puppy, but didn't work out. You are lucky to have found such a special little guy! -Lucia
He's soooo cute. I've always wondered what a Beagle-Doxie would look like.
I have a little girl beagle...she just turned 5 yesterday. Beagles are the BEST TEMPERED dogs...so mellow. Definitely a great choice if you have kiddos...because they are so tolerant and easy going.

Aren't lil hound dogs awesome?
They sure are!!! I also have a male beagle. He is 3 years old now. Once I got him potty trained he turned into the best dog ever. I totally agree with you. He is so patient and loving towards my kids too. That was why when they told me this dog was half beagle, I was sold!! They are great dogs!
Congratulations first of all for getting him from a Shelter!!! That tells me right away how much you love animals and how lucky he is going to a wonderful home as yours!
What an adorable "baby" you have there! I would never have been able to resist those eyes and the look on his face either - hope all of you have fun with all the enjoyment and love he'll give you! We have a Chihuahua (Rosie) that is so lovable and sweet- she's a year old, and then we have another one - this one too from a shelter Cody - he looks like a small version of a Golden Retreiver. He is the smartest og wehave ever had - he ALWAYS does as he's told. They're my "babies" as well and I think you made a good choice just as I would have - should have made hat choice 6 kids ago! LOL!
Blessings,
Debbie
