Default SU Order SCAM Alert

It seems the scammers are back again trying to get SU! demonstrators to place orders with a check, then send them a check for a higher amount and ask them to deposit it and send the difference to someone else.

I have read threads on this scam from 2011 and 2013 and looks like they are back at it again. The email I received is below. You will notice they "from" and "to" to themselves. Several of other demonstrators I know have received these as well. I unknowingly responded with a different mailing address before I realized it was a scam. I have received numerous follow-up emails saying they have sent the check, worried I haven't responded, please email when I get the check, etc. DON'T FALL FOR IT. Report it as phishing or a scam.

Default Back at it

I just got the same exact email today 5/4/16. It's a scam and it's coming around again.

Default Scams

Yes, I've gotten these types of emails on several occasions. It seems like I get one of these monthly. I've even gotten false leads through my DBWS. I just ignore and block them from my email.

Do people really still fall for these? There's been enough publicity about these sorts of scams. I can't believe there are still those who haven't heard about this.

Please keep in mind you have to report these sorts of crimes to the FBI, especially if you are scammed and lose money.
