i am a new member but couldn't wait to contribute to this cause. I worked on cards today should mail off this week. Do you need them mailed to you any certain way? I know you have enough to do, want to make sure I make this simple for you.
Hello,
The only think I ask is NOT to have the cards in a sealed envy.. I will have to open them if they are so the envy would get tossed out.. They can not say anything but good stuff... You would not believe I had to redo a ton of cards that were sent over the writing in them of the political views of a stamper..This is her right I could care less buit you cant tell a man just back form war you support them but not there Commander in Chief.. Iven if you dont.. I could care less about liking bush or not but it is not something these guys need to here in a hospital be that have huge issues... I know you are not the one to do this I just neede to make sure again it gets out there so I dont have to go throught htat again.. It was sad for me I could have been making cards not having to tear them off the back and rea do them so this was not on there..Like making them a front and then a full card again. She is a friend of a friend of a SCS so she had no real idea of waht could not be said.......Not a big deal I talked to the lady she is a very greatful lady to help and this is so very sweet of her she sends cards often and now does not say things like that in them.SHe was not meaning to sound mean or whatever she just did not think they should have EVER been there soooooo...... IT all workes out in the end.... :P

I want to help out too! I just got this thread today 2/12/05 and it jumped off the page at me. What a great service our military has done for us and the world. It' my pleasure and duty to show them some kindness as well.
Christmas 2003 my community had many hundreds of National Guards deployed (including some of my family members) we are a small town and it made a huge impact on us. So I organized a community stamping day that turned into 2 weekends of full blown stamping madness!
Are goal was to make 500 cards for Christmas but that goal was hugely surpassed to some 1200 cards. This event was the most rewarding thing I have done up til now--I can't wait to get stamping and spread the word.
Bless you for alerting us to this need. May it continue until ALL come home! Angela
To help with this need, i started a full card swap, in the swap forum. So, if people sign up, and want to make the extra card, I will mail the 12th card to you. Hopefully people will sign up!
I'm a little late getting to this thread....am I correct in thinking you both want cards with messages and cards that are blank so that the patients can use them to send home? Let me know and I'll be sending some off to you. This is a great cause, thanks for organizing it!

My huband spent a long time in Walter Reid during the Viet Nam War and I know he would have appreciated cards from anyone. It's a lonely time for many of these young men and women and I am so happy you are doing this. Count me in I'll send what I have now and then start making some more.
Thanks for doing this for all of us.
Maggie
HI If you are still looking for cards I would be glad to help out. Is it okay to send a few at a time?
This would be easier to mail. You can send me an email to let me know
Donna
You may expect cards from me! What a wonderful thing you are doing. It is things like this that truly make someone's life a bit better. God bless you. I sense that this is His cause and you are His tool to make it happen.
Hi Monica, Am just catching this thread for the first time also and would love to get involoved if you are still doing this. Thanks and God bless you for doing this for the troops and their families.

I missed this thread in '04. Are you still looking for cards? Let me know & I can get some mailed off. I'm sure there are a lot of folks on this site who would be interested.

I will get working on this great cause. I didn't see it before but it is great timing for me as my daughter who is a demo is visiting me. We can work on it together. I will make this an ongoing project.
My SIL is in the Air Force and I know all of the guys appreciate having something to send home besides white paper.

Does anyone know if she is still accepting cards? I pm'd her a long time ago and never heard anything back. Would like to know before I send cards. Thanks for any info.
