Hi Lyn, Thanks so much for keeping us posted. Wow! Sure sounds like you have been busy with the shower & wedding! I'm sure everything will be just great! You deserve a break! Have fun!
Sorry I haven't responded to PM's in awhile and I haven't looked at this thread for awhile too. My sister is getting married in a few weeks and I've been swamped with making her shower invitations, hosting the shower and making the wedding invitations. All is finished now and I have some breathing room.
I will be responding to everyone's PM's by the end of the weekend. I'll post here when I'm finished responding so you know if I've received yours or not.
Thanks for your patience!
I got my PM from you on May 15th. I know everyone must be busy because your note said that Catie would let us know in a week or two regarding payment. LOL I'm glad I have not missed out on it. But I really, definitely want the coobook.
Friendly reminder for people who want to be on the list for purchasing V2...
STOP SENDING ME MONEY. I'm not kidding. I'm not going to be the money man on this one. That is why I've been sending your money back.
I have been referring people back to this thread for referencing-it's the only cookbook thread I am posting to as it is the official one. I will talk to Lyn to see if a new thread is necessary or if it would just be confusing. Which reminds me...
Lyn rules. I haven't been ignoring the purchasing request e-mails/PMs on purpose, they are just low on my list right now. I will forward those PMs to Lyn when I get a chance-but honestly-it won't be soon. So if you want to be on the purchase list, you are better off PMing Twinklyn yourself at this point.
For Lyn: I know how much work you are doing for me because I was you for the first cookbook. You don't know how much time you have freed up for me to do this:
For a week or so in early June, MP and I went back and forth on why the 'proof' was being rejected. After the Great Software Upgrade of 2008, recipes in V2 came back fully 'unproofed', which is something that was discussed in this thread a couple of pages ago or so. Anyway-turns out that a book can't be submitted under the new software in unproofed status. Bummer. So I have to reproof everything again. (I'm totally cheating though. Unless I notice a horrifying error, I'm just blindly changing the status. Plus I have people in 2 states helping me out so it's going quickly.) While this isn't exactly back at square one, it's definitely a hurdle. The weather in Nebraska didn't cooperate for a week or two and then I took a mini break to attend the US Olympic Swim Trials. I have no access at work to a "hobby" site (INGRATES!!) so it's back to pluggin' away on ye ol' Dell at home. I don't know the status on the cover yet-it hasn't been a priority for me to run that down before getting this done. It'll just split my focus and that hasn't worked well for me in the past.
To the folks sending nasty e-mails: Yes. I get it. You're anxious, you wanna see it and this has been a LONG project. But believe this-it has been just as long for me and I am more anxious than anyone here for it to be done and I want people to see it. I'm going as fast as I can right now. Which reminds me (part 2)...
HUGE thanks to propecia and girlygirl, who have helped me keep my head. I think you'll find yourselves, and Twinklyn, in the "Acknowledgments"....just sayin'.
Back to work....

And so does propecia, girlygirl and Twinklyn for helping you out...
As for those nasty emails, you can always use them for the bottom of a bird cage... ;)
So relax and take your time on the cookbook... Like my Grandma always said, you can't rush greatness...

Nasty emails, shame, shame, shame. Some people must be looking to help you out Catie???? Give them a job - that will shut them up, hehehe
Sorry to hear that...
((Hugs)), and keep up the great work you are doing, we really do appreciated it.
Kathy
I'm so sorry--this has been a tremendous amount of work for you and I'm sure has been a nightmare. People forget you have a "life" besides this cookbook! You posted instructions long ago to contact Twynklyn, and that's what I did! People need to look back and read past posts to see if they missed directions that you specifically spelled out and are not going to repeat again every 10 posts....I, among many, truly support and appreciate your efforts, and when its ready, it's ready!! And it's not like you're going to make any money or have some big distributor through a publishing house for this! It's just out of love for fellow SCS members that you've done this, and unexpected problems always come up with a big project like this! Take care ,and don't get too crazy over this project! I received a text from Catie this morning that she was in a car accident last night on her way to work. She has been working on the cookbook but wanted me to post that with this set back, it will be a while longer. I think her car is totalled!

Cookbooks are way down the list compared to auto accidents and injuries. Catie, you take care of yourself and we will just keep cooking our regular stuff until you get well and get this nightmare of a cookbook finished!
I know all of us wish you well.

I received a text from Catie saying her internet has been down at her house so she's been doing it through her phone. Editing will be about another month then it will go to the publisher.
