Hi ~

I noticed you are moving to NY and wanted to give you an early welcome to the state we will both call home.

I live in Dutchess County (about 65 miles north of the Bronx and 254 miles south of Syracuse). What part of the state will you soon call home? Hopefully it's close enough for an occasional get-together (I've met a greta group of ladies when I attended an SCS gathering in Syracuse this past May.)

Here's hoping for a smooth move ...

At least this isn't one of those horrible divorce stories that you hear all time. We're still peaceful for the most part. LOL

The house went on the market this afternoon and somebody walked it a few hours later. I just got the call from our realtor saying they've made an offer. It's too good to pass up so we're signing the papers accepting tomorrow. We got a good deal on this house years ago so I figured we could list it at a fair price and still get something out of it. It worked out perfect! I guess I need to get busy narrowing down my apartment search.....they want to close on June 22nd!
That's real estate for you. One of the best investments you can make (depending on where you are). That's my question...where do you live? Sounds like the market is great like it is in Victoria. If you have the right stuff, it'll sell.

Good luck in your new adventure.

Congrats! Being in a similar situation, I have just this week gotten the courage to "black bag the crap" and get this place ready to sell. This forum topic has made me feel so unalone. Thanks everyone!

I have an update

My daughter and I are now in our little apartment. We've been driving around the new neighborhood checking out where we'd like to buy our next house. The location is great. It's about 25 minutes from work (I used to drive an hour), and it's about 10 minutes from my family and church.

My daughter's first day of summer camp at her new school was yesterday. She was really excited that she made a lot of friends. That made me feel better ;-) She said she knew she'd make friends, she just didn't expect it to be so many so fast. LOL

The only bad thing about this situation is that I don't really have the extra room for all my stamping goodies at the new place. It's all at my sister's for the time being. It's not so bad because she's not that far away. I just need to get my card mojo back because my gallery is feeling a little neglected lately ;-)

Talk to you all soon! Thanks so much for all of your support and letting me (and others) know that we're not alone. It sure does mean a lot!

Missy

All I can say is WOW...........in Michigan houses are on the market 2 to 3 YEARS, yes I said years!! I'm so tired of seeing the signs on the same houses. My DD had to move/ no choice for them. Their house has been on the market for 2 years. Lots of showings & people that want the house, but they have houses they can't sell.

So happy for you that you have found an area you want to live! You have been busy moving out of that house and into an apartment!

Sounds like your daughter is making a great adjustment also!
Good for you!!
