I just got back from convention. It was a blast!!! For all of you that didn't go, I suggest that you make plans to attend one. It will be worth your time and money!
Last year I was not able to go and put on a stamping evening in the Chicagoland area. Since I went to convention, I didn't do it beforehand, but I have gotten so many emails and pleas to do it again that I am in process right now in securing a place.
I am looking at having the "Mini convention - Showing your creativity at work" in Glen Ellyn, IL. It will happen on a Saturday (hopefully in the middle of September) beginning at 10:00 and going until 4:00 or 5:00. There will be samples to look at from Convention, one speaker (15-20 minute) talk on recruiting, 8+ make and takes, Lunch and light snacks, paper, pad and marker charts for all the new colors, AND A FREE STAMP SET "SWEET SPOT" to use in your make and takes! This will be a fun, fun day! I have three ladies lined up to show techniques and new products such as the NEW WATERCOLOR crayons, Hodgepodge kit, twill tape and lots of other things. THERE WILL BE LOTS AND LOTS OF DOOR PRIZES!!!! There will also be cool things in your make & take packets!
If you are interested in coming to this "mini-convention", please let me know. The cost is going to be $40.00 for the day, but it will be well worth your time and money. Ask anyone who came to the last one!!
Please contact me if you are interested in attending this event. The place I am looking at will accomodate 100 people. If there is a big enought request, I will find a bigger place.
I would love to attend depending on the date - we are going on a cruise Sept. 9 thru 20th, so if it is one of those weekends I would not be able to make it, otherwise count me in.
As a non-demo, I wish that I would have the opportunity to do something like that. The conventions sound like so much fun but because I'm not a demo, I can't participate. If you'd open it up to non-demos, I'd be willing to drive the 3+ hours from Michigan to attend!
We just rec'd a wedding invite for the middle of September. Aack. Although I voted yes, the date and time would be the deciding factor for me. If it's the same day, then maybe this in the am and the wedding in the pm.
I need to a) send in my demo paperwork and b) look up Glen Ellyn on the map.
This is official now! I have seen the venue and it will accomodate up to 100 people. Saturday, September 17, Registration begins at 9:45, event begins at 10:00, ends at 4:00. Turner Conference Center (Room 2800), Student Resource Center, College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, IL (Chicagoland).
Please, if you are interested in attending, contact me at [email protected] to get the Adobe PDF Registration and Information form.
If you have any questions, please contact me at the email address above!!!
If you plan to attend, don't purchase the SWEET SPOT stamp set in the holiday mini. It is the stamp set you will receive with your make & take packet on the day of the event!!!
Thanks!
Connie Tomsky
PS. For all you ladies who would like to come but are not demos:
I have started a waiting list. Once we reach the deadline for registrations (August 24), I will begin filling the empty spots with non-demos and friends of demos (good customers). However, their registration forms and money must be sent to me just like everyone else. They are put in order as they are received. I have about 6 people on the waiting list. If you are not a demo and you would like to attend, fill out a registration form and send in your money to me. If the spots fill and you don't get in, you will get your money back. I hope this helps!

Reason: REgistration forms now attached as PDF
Hey Connie! Once you receive our registration do you send us an email, snail mail, etc. to confirm? Just curious. I already mailed mine a week ago, was just wondering how you handle that. Thanks a bunch, can't wait to meet you and others!
Yes, I got your registration. Everyone that has registered, should be looking for a postcard by the end of next week (the 13th/14th). If you need directions, I will be posting them to this thread towards the beginning of September.
Can anyone come to this convention! I am not a demonstrator, but I loved evedrything stampin'up!
THANKS
Yes, fill out a registration form and send it to me along with a check. I have a waiting list started. If you don't get a spot, you will get your money back!

Jill, if you are still interested, please print and fill out a registration form and send it to me along with your money. If you are high on the waiting list, you'll probably get in.

Thanks! If you could just post the address to the venue, i'll just use Mapquest to find my way. It would be easier for me. Thanks a bunch!

You mention a wait list, does that mean you have the full 100 registered so far? wahooo!!!! I can't wait, it sounds like it will be sooooo much fun! Thanks for all your hard work
It looks like I am to late for this year, but I would like to know if you hold anything else in the near future. I have family in Glen Ellyn so this would give me another reason to visit.
