I went to one of the better Michael's in my area (northern NJ) and saw that they have almost gotten rid of the mounted stamps and have most of the aisle devoted to clear unmounted. I couldn't believe it.
Also, I saw that Mike's now has its own line of clear unmounted, called Recollections. They are small sets priced at $6.99 and there were some really cute ones, especially for boy cards which I have so much trouble making -- a set of 4 or 5 monsters with sentiments, and a set of several robots with sentiments. There's also a bunch of the Changito clear series -- the birthday, and the school, outer space, pirate, and another one, I forget.
I was so good and I didn't buy anything -- I didn't have a coupon. But I am so glad to see all the new stuff.
anyone try those new Recollections sets yet?

For you California ladies, I'm in South Orange County and one of my Michaels has the stamp section set up like this already (Foothill Ranch). I haven't checked the other two in my area yet.

Yes, I was excited to see this occurring in our Michael's in Concord, NH, also. Our Michael's in Manchester, NH previously had EXTREMELY LITTLE as far as clear stamps, but it now also has a whole bunch of clear stamps. I used to go in there and just be shocked that they only had the usual supply of wood mounteds.

I bought the jungle animals set from The Paper Company. I am usually hesitant to buy clear stamps from companies I'm unfamiliar with since so many are poorly made, but I was very happy with these. I just gave them a good scrub and they were ready to go! Such cute images too!

Our Michaels has tons of new clear stamp sets that I'd let to have. Inkadinkado, Recollections, Hero Arts, etc. Plus they have a nice selection of new wood mounted stamps from Hero Arts. And I'm absolutely loving the expanded Tim Holtz section as well.

WE have so many Michaels in this City...my fav newer store close to my home has done this too..nearly a full aisle of clear stamps...I have bought several and it is an especially good deal when you use a 50% off coupon on these....loving the new stuff!
blessings.
When I spent a couple of hours browsing at the Michael's on Ming in Bako last week, I was amazed at all the clear stamps! I saw the Changito series and all the other boxed sets. Although I haven't completely warmed up to clear stamps yet (I have several, but don't use them as much as I could), it IS nice to see the new trends reflected.
I've used the Recollections line for embellishments quite a bit and am very pleased with the quality. Wait! Now that I think about it, I did buy a clear set that day....I'll have to pull it out and make a card with it! I think it was a set for flourishes. I use them alot on personalized notecard sets.
What I'm NOT thrilled about is Michael's lack of die cut stuff. They have quite a few Sizzix dies, and Cricut stuff out the wazoo, but absolutely no Nesties. Is it a contractual thing? I was excited to see the Beverly's has a big sale this month on Nesties. I'm going to price out Label 4...
mine still has about the same amount of unmounted stamps but a ton more clear stamps. I LOVE the selection and the prices. I'm really excited about where michaels is going.
