I used (one of) mine today and I got 40% off everything! I told the lady I kinda feel guilty, gaining from someone else's error. But she said, "Ehh, don't worry about it. You're only the 3rd person we've had come in with the coupon". I spent $158, but it would have been $263!!!!! Wowsers!

I came on here tonight to look at the gallery and this thread caught my eye. I feel like I just won a lottery!
Perhaps I should contain myself though until I go to my local store and see if they honor it....
When I was in my Micheal's on Thursday I heard my cashier explaining to another cashier that this coupon was printed wrong and said 40% off ENTIRE order but would ring up as 40% off ONE item. The other cashier started asking what to do if the customer said "but hey it says..." but I didn't hear the rest of that conversation....
I went tonight, I had printed the original coupon and they honored it, cause they had made the mistake on their end. If I had known I would not be getting that coupon ever again I would have bought more! LOL Of course my hubby deleted it off of the computer too, so I can't go to a different store.
I had a link to a 20% off entire purchase coupon good through 8-23. I deleted all the stuff after http://www.michaels.com/coupons/ and found this coupon good through 8-30. It has today's date in the URL. I wonder if I'll get it in an email later this week! (My coupon good through 8-23 shows 8-12-08 in the URL, but I didn't get the email until 8-14). After being coupon-starved for a few weeks, I'm feeling overloaded now with the coupon I got in the store on Sunday, the one in my email, and now this one. It's definitely not a bad thing, though!
Hmmm, my hubby just spent a bunch on me at M's for my birthday, and I was in there on Sunday to spend some other birthday money. But 40% off my entire purchase!! Certainly I "forgot" to get something:mrgreen: And I just happen to have a doctor's appointment down the street from the store next Tuesday!
They must have noticed the error. The coupon has changed :(

I used this 40% -off-entire-purchase coupon at JoAnn's today, which they honored in full. The clerk told me that JoAnn's soon will not be accepting Michael's coupons at all, although she did not know exactly when that new policy will be effective. I purchased some nice printed 12x12 paper for $.25 each. I'm happy.
The initial e-mail with the coupon said 40% of your entire regular priced purchase. It was a typo , so they retracted it and resent it out as 40% off any one item. If you were fortunate enough to print it out before they retracted, you can still use it. It will only ring up at the register as 40% off the highest priced item, but they can override that and don't let them tell you otherwise.
I was blessed by a wonderfull woman I met in the stamp isle at Joanne's. she had just come from Micheal's and had used hers. She had printed out a second one and gave it to me.
Thanks for the heads up but I printed like 4 of these.

I went to my M's today and used the blurry 40% off entire purchase coupon. At first the cashier couldn't scan it and pulled out the regular 40% off one item coupon. I politely pointed out it was for 40% off the entire purchase. A supervisor told her to do a transaction override for 40%. Worked like magic! The sup did ask me if I photocopied the coupon though, which I didn't!
I went there today and gave her my coupon. It rang up at one item at 40%. I told her...it says the ENTIRE purchase. So, she had to do it manually on each of the 4 items I bought today. Yes, they will have to override it because it doesnt want to scan it.

Thanks for the coupon...no where on it does it say not valid in Canada, so I am going to try it on Friday. If anyone has had success in Canada, please let me know.
Yep, it works, saved $100. The manager just made it 40% of total-no reringing. I got stuff for DD's wedding, like the Wilton candies, and some ribbon to tie around the plasticware and napkins. Got a couple of punches I might not have needed:rolleyes:
Also got some scrapbooking stuff for DD-she might have some pics soon that need a place to stay!
I printed off like 6 of these and have visited about every michael's within driving distance.
I've picked up all kinds of stuff, OTT lite, tins, $1.00 spot things (mostly glow sticks), it has been a blast. DH even came with me to 'help' me with my purchase, the ticker went up and up, then the coupon, it went down, it was so awesome!
Good point about the coupon. You know they lost lots of money on this one, I feel sorry for the person who put it on line-- probally now unemployed.
Also, trying to get my altered coaster swap up and running, desprately need more players, please click on it -- in my signature line and sign up! It promices to be fun!
I went to my Michaels today and it wouldn't scan.. The casheir took out a 40 percent off one item out of the drawer and scanned it. I pointed out that my coupon said 40% off entire order.. SHe said she couldn't use it.. I told her to take all of my stuff off but one item. she seemed a little miffed.. Oh well..I am going to try another Michaels tommorwo..
My online coupons was honored today at the Crystal, MN Michaels. The young man had to scan each item and then ring in the 40% after that for each item.
I thought he might be unpleasant about it; but he was as nice as can be.

I got three of the Halloween Martha Stewart border punches, 21 Christmas clear stamp set by Inkadinkado, and a bunch of the Studio G Series 17 stamps. The cashier had to manually take off 40% on each item as she scanned it. Their system had not been updated for this coupon yet.

I took my coupon in to Michaels and the poor girl, after trying several times to get it to just do 40% off the total she had to scan everything and do it one by one.
She was very nice about it, mine would not scan so she just read the numbers off the coupon. The manager came over and told her to just do 40% off the total but she did not know how to do it.
It works and they will honor it. I'm sure that they have had more sales because of that coupon. Yes, its a bigger discount but Im sure some people
have purchased a little more than they would have had they not had it.
I went to the one in Merrilliville, IN today and the clerk rang up the non sale items first and hit some button for 40% off all and then rang up the sale items. I used the link that was posted here, and printed quite a few of them. The coupon stated one per customer per day, so I'll probably go back tomorrow and get some more stuff. I didn't spend much today and there's not a lot more that I need.

I printed out 5 of these coupons and gave one to a friend and I gave the other 3 to Michaels shoppers... I heard that last Friday was some special day to do something nice for someone and I wasn't out and about that day so I did my good deeds today. I also emailed this coupon to a friend too. We didn't have any problems at the counter. I said to the lady " i suppose your getting tired of ring up these separetely" but she replied that"she liked challenges" and was really nice...Just make sure you give the coupon to the sales clerk right away...
I'm wondering why some cashiers have to ring everything up separately. At my Michaels they were able to use a "Transaction discount" of 40%, which took the discount off the entire total.
Thanks so much for posting this!! I was able to run in 15 minutes before closing time yesterday and got a rolling tote, a bag and a ton of dotto refills!! They originally only took the discout off one thing but I just pointed it out and after 10 minutes of waiting for a manager, they put it through!! So thank you so much for sharing!! :mrgreen:
I just came back from my Michaels today again. I turned the corner from the stamp isle...any they have these NEW posted signs out and I came across new
changito monkeys, flufflies, and Stampendous on there. I got 6 new stamps at 40% off each one. Now I need to go get some more at another store or maybe tomorrow with this coupon.
You are correct, the manager has to accept them because it was an ERROR. She did each one individually though which was great for me buying those new stamps.

I used it again. The cashier looked at me and said " You can't use that again. You've used it before." I said "Sure I can. It's an email coupon."
She called over the manager who shrugged and said " We have to honor it." The manager noted that I can use the coupon once a day. I wish I had more Michaels close by. <wink>
I'm SO tempted to go back again tomorrow. BTW - they didn't have the new changitos, fluffies, etc in mine yet.
I've used these coupons 3 times already (my poor bank account!), but each store has honoured the coupon. It takes a few extra minutes for them to correct it, but for 40% off everything, I'll wait.
I've used this at three different Michaels in the Orlando area and have not had any problems. It's take a while for them to ring them up, because they don't "know" how. But I was not going to tell them "how". I just waited because I wanted my discount! The manager today was very rude and said, I've worked here 5 years and have never seen one of these before. I guess I will go back to a different store if I want to use it again!

I saw these new ones too. But ours are located by the regular stamps. I didnt know which one to chose so I didnt choose any of those.
