I've searched for a thread listing open stamping design team calls and haven't found it, so I'll start one. Since this Announcements forum no longer has an Edit button, as time goes on you'll need to check the later posts in this thread for the revised list. To start, here are a few links to currently open calls.
Cornish Heritage Farms, deadline 12:00 a.m. 8/1/08 http://forums.cornishheritagefarms.c...pic.php?t=1635
Mitzi and RiverIsis, thanks for your positive comments.
Jellybean74, I know what you mean about the amount of talk about DTs. There must be more open calls from companies that I've missed, and with help we should be able to compile a fairly extensive list here.
This thread could be titled "No More Excuses." There are lots of companies out there looking for design talent, and there really aren't any excuses for interested stampers not to try out. You are welcome to post to this thread if you decide to submit to one or more of these calls. It would be fun to track how everyone does... and to wish you good luck, of course.
Thanks, Brandi . I was happy to start the list, but I'm hoping others will contribute, too.
Yesterday I couldn't find the thread that got me thinking about this idea weeks ago, and I finally located it this morning. Now I can credit where the idea came from: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
:lol: as much as I would love to be on Elzybells DT - have loved their stuff for a few years now... I don't think I have enough good stuff. I tend to have a splodge or blodge here and there on cards. My friends have learnt to accept that's my style. Thanks again for the info... maybe I will just enter, she can only say no! :lol:
Since the Elzybells deadline is TODAY, you don't have a lot of time to procrastinate and second-guess yourself. Go for it!

Does anyone know if they have one? I absolutley adore their images, especially the old fashoned ones and the ones that layer, also their colored pencil work is exquisite. Papercrafter4516:rolleyes:
Does anyone know of other stamping design team calls to add to the list?
Purple Onion Designs sent the following out in their newsletter today:
"Upcoming Design Team Search
Purple Onion Designs is getting ready to expand its design team. We are looking to add designers that are able to showcase our stamps within their artwork. We will be searching for designers that specialize in:
* Cardmaking
* Scrapbooking
* Altered Arts
* Mixed Media
* Paper Arts
Be on the lookout for a newsletter later on this summer announcing more details."

I wasn't able to find any info on a Magenta design team. That doesn't mean that you can't educate them on the benefits starting one. ;)
If you haven't already done so, you could consider joining their Yahoo group. That might give you some insight into how they handle things.
Thanks for sharing that info, Michele . We'll watch for your announcement next month. With all the interest in design teams around here, I bet you'll get some awesome submissions. Best of luck in your search.
For those who are wondering how many people answer calls and what their submissions look like, this is a chance to follow a call and see exactly what is submitted. No one has replied yet, but it could be an interesting and informative process to watch.
The Stampin' D' Amour announcement says: "Please POST FIVE Samples of YOUR work on THIS THREAD...." But it goes on to say: "just start a new topic of YOUR OWN...."
That probably means that the samples should be posted to their site on the same FORUM rather than the same THREAD. So, the URL to the THREAD I posted in Reply #22 should have been to their DT Call FORUM instead: http://stampindamour.com/messageboar...forum.php?f=18
We now have a brand new forum, Design Team Searches & Announcements, which makes this thread in the main Announcements forum obsolete. Please see the new forum instead: Forums at Splitcoaststampers

I think this thread still has a place! Some of the companies linked in the list you compiled have not posted in the DTS&A forum, so for example to find the information on Firecracker Designs' design team call, I searched out your thread because I didn't see them in the other forum.

Anyone can post in the new DTS&A... so if you happen to come across a DT call somewhere and would like to share... post away. ;)

Ah, Microscope Mel, you have totally messed up my plan to let this thread die gracefully -- and after everything had been going so well for a whole silent week, too, LOL. ;)
All kidding aside, I do appreciate your comments. I abandoned this thread for several reasons. First, I was guessing this is not the way the SCS team wants to handle design team calls. They opened an entire new forum for this topic.
Second, the original Reply #19 has been deleted here. That post had additional info from a company about its call, and I am guessing (again) that something about that post was against the TOS. My response is the new Reply #19, which no longer makes any sense.
Third, we have just had a Mod post for the first time to this thread, politely directing us to the new forum.
If I had wanted complete control over a list of stamping design team calls, I would have put it on my website. Instead, I felt it would be more valuable as a community resource. I also expected more chatter in this thread than there has been, although it has had over 1100 views.
I'm happy to let this thread evolve however everyone else wants it to, and I am still willing to update it. But my assumption is that SCS would rather have all the design team calls located in the new forum. I don't want to be working at cross-purposes.

OOOOHHHHH! I eagerly (and perhaps too quickly) read Jenn Balcer's "Read this first!" thread and interpreted the guidelines to mean that postings to the DTSnA forum were very restricted and limited to individuals representing companies submitting calls and announcements to mods for approval. I think in particular I misinterpreted the following from Jenn's posting:
"Anyone may post a call - regardless of company affiliation along with a link to find the details and submit applications"
to mean that even people from non-member companies could post a call. I didn't interpret it to mean that I could go start a thread about the Firecracker design team call, etc in the new forum. I guess I also chose to interpret the fact that Crafts's 'master list' thread here wasn't moved over to the new forum as an additional indication of the restricted post-ability of the new forum too.
So, just ot make sure I've got it right, *anybody*, even me who has no stamp company affiliation whatsoever, can go over to the new forum and start a thread with the details of the Firecracker Design team call and a link to their info page on that call, and it would be legit?

Muahahaha! My master plan succeeded! Mostly I'm just a dork and didn't understand the new forum's rules, but thought I had enough of a grasp of the rules that I didn't need to ask for clarification.

Then why dincha go post the DT calls over in the new forum, seeing as you had the genius idea to collect them all together in one place?
I personally have my eye on two of the DT calls. One I've got all my projects photographed for, the other I found out I need to make a couple of different types of projects than what I've got prepped for.

No claim on the genius idea here . The original idea came from another thread.
There are a couple of reasons I'm not re-posting everything in the new DTS&A forum. Jenn's post says "Duplicate posts within the same week about the same call will not be approved." Let's say someone were to post a casual note about a call. Then the company wouldn't be able to get its own formal announcement approved that week because someone else had already posted it.
Also, Jenn says, "The Forum will be pruned every Monday, and any posts 8 days or older will be deleted. You may re-post if the call is still open." That would mean that I'd have to re-post all the ongoing calls every week, and I'd have to re-post all the calls that lasted longer than 8 days (which is nearly all of them). It would be the equivalent of deleting all the information in this thread that was posted over 8 days ago.
There is no chatter allowed in that forum's announcements, and I liked the idea of being able to talk about some of the calls, especially when people decided to try out for them. Case in point:

Yup, you have it right.
Just submit and then Jami will look it over, if she has any questions she'll pm you ;)
Jovi is absolutely right - you do not need any affiliation with the company to post a call. There can only be one call per post and the company name needs to be in the title.

Good luck with your submissions!
You are certainly right that a company *might* want to post their own call here, but we welcome them from anyone. Hopefully more companies will become aware of the forum for calls. Please feel free to send a link to that forum to any company you see with an open call! That would be FAB to get the word out for the SCS community. We are excited about this new service for our members.:-D
Hi, Kitty -- Thanks for letting us know. I've added your GDT call to my list, which has been moved to my website while we are in transition.
SCS has a new forum now for Design Team Searches & Announcements. You are welcome to post all of your details there. Here's a link to that forum: Forums at Splitcoaststampers

Thanks, Michele. Earlier in this thread, Mel posted a heads-up that your call was coming. I've been watching for your official announcement with all the details.
