My order total has come through on my cc account. The total was correct. I was charge about $8.50 for shipping on an order that was originally $80. I know it will be heavier as I ordered 2 8oz bottles of simple solution to use with the primary elements . . . Now, I just need to evaluate if I need to place another order. I'll let you all know when my order arrives. I'm waiting eagerly but so sad that this company has to go out of business because of the economic mess we are in.

i am trying to be patient for my order. i have a question for you - i could not tell from their website exactly what the primary elements are - i know you can mix different solutions with them to make paints for different surfaces. but i am wondering how they compare to perfect pearls or pearl ex - for example can i brush the powder over versamark or mix it with water to make a spray mist....instead of buying radiant rain....
thanks!!!
m
i am also getting anxious - tho not because i am concerned just because i want them so badly! trish your cards are gorgeous - i usually do this with mementos but i am looking forward to trying it with twinks! can you give me the steps - my first attempts were a little disappointing!
Wow, thank you. I use an aqua painter-I have tried a paint brush, but me and my "aqua" are buddies!! Sometimes I spray from a water bottle, too. Spray, let let for a few minutes, then using a paint brush or aqua painter, "paint" the color on the stamp (not an outline stamp), but a stamp with a lot of surface (I'm sure they have a name but I don't know what it is). For flower petals I use a darker color on the inside and a different color further out. After I put all my colors on, I lightly spritz and stamp on the paper( I have best results with watercolor paper and SU ww) then I spritz the stamp again and place on the paper again-stamps a lighter image-you can always add a little more paint to stamp or on the wet paper. A trick I learned from Sharon who was with Luminarte for along time is to blow-dry (NOT heat emboss gun-too hot) and then the colors pop. I place in a large dictionary over-night to flatten.
As far as watercolor paper-I buy at HL in the art section. Sometimes it is 25% off but the best is 40% off coupon. A couple of months ago I got a pad on clearance for under $2. Another fun thing we did at the Luminarte table was to spritz the pots with a lot of water, let it sit for a minute, while we spritzed our paper(wcp that had been embossed with an image in black emb. powder prior to our arrival) then we used mini pom-poms, dipped them in the pots and placed on the wet paper-gorgeous technique-I have not been able to dublicate as I don't have an embossing gun :( I am going to look for a pic of the card we did-it was awesome.

I found it! In my 2p*as album. The gold bamboo is Egyptian gold twink (which is different on black and white papers) painted the stamp, then stamped, and inked the edges with the pom-pom or brush. The black embossing was done prior, and each person customized theirs by the colors they used-all was painted with pom-poms. Designed by Sharon Diskin-she was amazing, her knowledge and uses of twinkling h2o's. The third back ground is wcp also, and we used the pompoms on it too.
wow trish the sample is awesome - i am so doing one like that! i will try the stamping technique again too. i do it all the time with regular dye ink pads....
ljscrap could you let us know what day you placed your order? I keep checking my cc and there still is nothing! I have sent an email due to the fact the order confirmation said it would be sent within 10days!! I haven't heard anything back from them.
Thanks.Hugs,Connie
Any suggestions for a true red such as could be used with Christmas cards?? I've just been introduced to Twinkling H2O's and do like the look they give and have already placed my order. Thanks for all the good advice.

Poppy red is an orangey red and Hot Cinnamon is closer to a "real" red. Hot cinnamon is probably what you want. It is about the same as Stampin Up's Real Red cardstock. Those are the only 2 reds I have. Someone else might know of another one.
zeeksmama I went to the website for you and it doesn't give a closing date.In the post #43 from paisley frogs it sez she called and was told they would send out all orders, that they were doing another production run!
Hope this helps!
I just wanted to update everyone on my order. I place my order last week & it arrived today. I received the promised 40% discount. I had all but 4 sets of the Twinkling H2O's and they are what I ordered. My order was complete. So, if amyone wants them, but is hesitant to order I thought I'd let you know about my great experience with this company even though they are sadly going out of business. JIL
I placed my order on 2/17. I will let you know what day it arrives.
I cannot answer if primary elements are similar to perfect pearls or pearl ex as I dont have those 2 products. I will try what you suggested over the weekend as I have never used them as such (nor even thought they could be used as such) I will let you know the results. From reading the fourms, I think I know what results you are looking for and I'll learn a new use at the same time. I hope it works! I love to use the primary elelments make the ornaments that luminarte shows on their website. I also use them as a paint.
My favorite ways to use the H2O's is either direct to rubber or as a color medium. I like to take what I call "line stamps" and emboss and then paint them in using either the aqua pen or a small water color brush. The embossing creates a nice line that will not bleed and helps me stay in the lines.
Oh well that was just too tempting... I have been eyeing these for a couple of years. Thanks for the heads up on the sale though I wish it was under better circumstances.
i'm new to these so i would like to ask a question of you all...which kit would you pick for a newbie?...i would like to get as much use out of them as possible...thanks for your advice

Here is a good chart-the colors look more true to the colors they actually are, than some of the color chart on Luminarte.
as far as colors: I think if you have black, white(one of the whites), the 6 primary/secondary colors you can make a lot of colors- I also love the set with brown, tans-great variety of skin tones and a lite pink. I have had 1 brown for 2-1/2 years and no white or black-and have missed them for blending-with this order I doubled my pots-and added 3 browns. Once I added the blue, yellow, orange etc., set I could blend colors more. I totallly wish I could get more!!

Apparently, they are still working on orders today from the 16th & 17th, so I guess we just have to be patient.
This is good to know. I just ordered on Sat 2/21 and haven't heard anything and was getting worried. I did just send off an email asking about the status of the order. I guess I should be more patient but I have a project that I need them for . . . (and maybe I should get a few more)
I ordered from Luminarte a few days ago and I received a confirmation letter of the total before the 40% come off. I've emailed them to find out how much my actualt otal and shipping will be but have not heard. Now I find my account has been debited over $200 so I'm concerned they've taken out whatever amount they wanted!!! Very concerned now as it is the weekend so cannot contact my bank or the company!!

Ouch! I guess maybe you paid for mine as well as yours-thanks! I hate it when that kind of thing happens and it's always over the weekend. I'm sure it can all be worked out, but what a hassle in the meantime . . . .I'm sorry that happened to you!
Do you know for a fact that the $200 debit was made by LuminArte and not someone else who has made a fraudulent purchase using your banking information?
The reason I ask, is that you said you placed your order just a few days ago, and from what I understand it's been taking longer than that for LuminArte to fill orders. I don't know if you live outside the US or not, but those who do are supposed to get a confirmation of the cost of their order before it's shipped. One would think that if they've filled your order and debited your account, you should have heard back from them by now.
I placed my first order with LuminArte on February 14th and I haven't received the cost confirmation yet, there hasn't been any refunds or debits,
and none of my emails have been answered. So, again, I can't help but wonder how they got to your order so fast, and if perhaps your $200 debit was made by someone else?
Does your bank not offer 24 hour a day customer service? A toll free number that you can phone to ask who debited your account for that amount?
Good luck... I hope everything turns out okay for you in the end. I have to admit, I've been worried about my order and how much it's going to cost me. Living outside the US, I have higher shipping rates, our bad exchange rate, and taxes and handling fees to worry about, in addition to what I'll be charged for the actual items. :(

Last I heard they had over 800 orders to fill-and they don't charge you until they fill it-doesn't your bank have a 24-hr hotline-what if someone gets their purse or wallet stolen on the week-end?? I don't think it was from Luminarte-it's not your order's turn yet-lol No cuts in line

I placed my order on the 14th, it hasn't arrived yet. I'm starting to get worried so I emailed Luminarte about the order this morning, hope to hear or get something soon!

GOODLUCK bethvb! I don't believe they are answering their emails. I have sent an email a couple of days ago and have not had a reply. The confirmation said the customer would have the goods within 10days and I have not been charged as of today. This is bad customer service! I would like to know if my order will be sent and for what amt the shipping will be!!
The girl that answered the phone yesterday told me she was the only one processing the orders. They probably didn't anticipate this kind of response, and if they are going out of business, they probably won't hire anyone to help out. However, I did ask how long they will continue taking orders, and she said "as long as they keep coming in". It makes you wonder if maybe all of this business could pull them out of the hole (if they are in one), or if maybe they should just lower their prices and keep their company going.
