I got my Stampin Up demonstrator's ID this past week, and expect my start up kit to arrive this week. I'm looking forward to some great creative fun! I'm from Indian Lake. I think my region has their regional or district --or whatever they them-- meetings in Cincy. Don't know when the next meeting is, but I'm excited to learn some new things and share them with fellow stampers and scrappers. Congratulations!!
Congrats to you both! I just signed up too! I'm holding my first open house in two weeks! It's so much fun! Shari, I live in the Cinci area. My upline is in Florida though. I don't think I will be attending many meetings! ;)

I also just recently became a demonstrator for SU, I signed up in March. I have so much to learn though. I am looking forward to learning new stuff! Any advice anyone has, that would be great
Hi there...
I just became a demonstrator too!
Is it just me or are you new demo's slightly overwhelmed too? There is just so much stuff to read and look at. I signed up for the demo side of SCS and thought that I would be waiting for a few days BUT much to my surprise I went to the SU gallery to look for something and it was like a whole new world LOL
I am loving life
I've been stamping about 7 years, so the stamping part I think I can deal with, picking up new techniques along the way, but the business side may be a little tricky. My first workshop is scheduled for April 25. So, I need to get organized! I'm planning to demonstrate two-step stamping for the project that day.
Congratulations, everybody! Such a fun time to be a demo!
Diane, if you call Stampin Up (800-STAMPUP), they can give you your demo id number and tell you how you can sign in to the demo website. From there, you can track your kit's delivery.
I'm not terribly computer savvy. Am wondering if I should try the website opportunity or not. I'm afraid I won't be able to keep it up? How difficult is it? Any ideas? Thanks for your help. Shari
Hi again...
I started a blog and I was wondering how you girls got all the stampin up stuff on yours! Is there a tread somewhere that explains how to make your blog all fancy and stuff?? lol
Yes sign up the first 3 months are free and you may get a hit off of scs if you put in your web address! Congratulations to all you new Demos!!!!
Thanks Tina. I went to your demonstrator page to see how the webpage looks. Hopefully, I'll be able to navigate through the process. I'm going to give it a try.
I also just started and received my starter kit on Monday, 3/30! I'm having a blast and just had my first "purchase" with my first Open House & Crop scheduled for 4/17. However, my 1st official workshop will be with my niece's and a few of their friends (along with moms!)... My niece's LOVE to scrapbook with me and are really excited about learning how to stamp. There mom doesn't stamp or scrapbook although I've tried getting her involved but she is just too busy. However, she encourages her girls to participate in crafts fully supporting them with "their" purchases. Should be lots of fun.
I was a bit nervous about becoming a demonstrator especially considering the economy but now that I've done it I can't wait to have more in-home crops, workshops and starting up a craft club.
My kit is supposed to be here on Friday and the other 3lbs of it will be here on Monday! So what did you "purchase" ??
My friends are somewhat into all of it, some more than others, but we'll see!
I'm planning on making some really cute gifty items for a crop that I'm doing for a friend of mine on the 2nd of May. Actually I really don't know what to do for it... I guess it would kinda be an openhouse of sorts

Have any of you made anything yet?
Diane--I've been following the card and scrapbook sketch challenges here to get some ideas. My kit should be here any day, so I'm anxious to get some things made with those items. Should be lots of fun!

Hi Diane,
I have an awesome upline that has given me tons of great ideas along with a few names of people on the web that offer templates along with "kit" ideas which can easily be translated into projects for workshops or craft clubs.
For my 1st open house, I'm doing 2 mothers day cards along with scallop box showcased on the Stampin' Up website. I've already done a dry run on the scallop box but need to do another one since my husband decided he wanted the box that I made to store his gum pack in at work! I thought it was sweet that he liked the box so much that he wanted to take it to work 8-).
I'm also working on a project turning a standard paper lunch bag into a cute little purse which I'll be posting to my blog when it is done.
Yesterday, at my uplines craft club we made these really cute "flowers" using the Big Shot along with my favorite die, Top Notz. We had a tiny little clay pot then punched out 3 Top Notz then folded each top notz in half along the short side and using the large circle punch (I think) we punched a "1/2" circle in the middle of the fold so when you opened it you had a full circle. The top notz was then cut in 1/2 along the fold. Each 1/2 top notz was then "wrapped" around the little clay pot until it looked like a flower. Using the small Oval punch, we punched out 7 ovals then using sticky strip layed out with one side of the sticky up we put down each oval short middle side by side and cut them in half using our straight cutter. After we pulled off the remaining sticky strip on 1/2 of the ovals (now looking like a leaf) and wrapped around the bottom about a 1/8" up from the bottom then took the second strip and wrapped that around the bottom at the very base of the pot. Inside the pot we put a Peep that was placed in a cellophane bag and tied with ribbon...
Mary--I like the look of your site too. Couldn't decide myself. I guess we can change the style anytime. That's kind of cool. Thanks for the welcome.
thank you for the lovely comment on my demo site and yes we can change them as much as you want i usually only change mine when we get new templates from SU lol if you need any help you may pm any time.
Hey girls. My demo kit came today. BUt, I've been so busy getting ready for company for Easter weekend, and a big family Easter dinner, I haven't had time to play with it yet. Darn it!!! I just have to find some time to open it and play!!
I'm new to this board and I love to read everyone's posts. I just got my kit last week too. I originally joined just to be actively involved. I could so use the discount, lol. But I have a few friends who are interested in doing a monthly club. I'm getting together with my upline soon to get some ideas. Good luck to everyone!

I have a group that has a monthly club. It works really well. Everyone signs up for a month to host the workshop and they get the hostess rewards for that month. The demonstrator (that's me now) shows a couple of ideas, then we do 1 or 2 make n takes. Once in a while, we have just a work day, so the demonstrator can just "play" too, and not have to present anything. We've had this club going 6 or 7 years. Members come and go, but usually we keep it at about 10-12 people. It's great fun!!
Hi Shari. I have to laugh. I got an email from someone today asking if I'd do a class for her. I'm calling her tomorrow to set up a day. It was so unexpected. I didn't think I'd be doing any. So now, I have to get it in gear and find some things to do. I see my upline Sunday afternoon, so hopefully we'll get a few things planned.

Kristi--lots of ideas here with the card and scrapbook sketches! Also, the stampin up gallery has lots of ideas--just input a stamp set and the gallery pictures will pop up. Good luck to you!
I worked in my stamp room today. Got 2 swaps complete and I got my 2 make n takes ready for Saturday's workshop. I'm demostrating 2 step stamping, and making a card using that, then using the card sketch from this week to make another card, and adding some hodgepodge hardware for the second make n take. So, let the fun begin!!
