if you don't talk to your cat about catnip who will?
I have one of a bird holding a red rose on my outside right ankle. I would love to get one of a humingbird on my left ankle! I've had mine for about 9 years now and my daughter went with me to get mine. She had already gotten one about a year before. It's really funny because my dh is your typical biker dude and doesn't have any tatoos at all! He wants to get a Harley related one but just hasn't gotten around to it yet! Can't wait to see the pics of yours!
Well move over Miss Iowa and share the covers...zzzzzz. Okay, does that count?
I have two. One above each ankle. The pictures are not the greatest as I had to take the pics myself. Everyone thinks the kitty one is a skunk but its a CAT. I guess it doesn't matter as long as I know what it is.

Well I don't think you're my type (unless you're MALE! snort).
You know what your kitty tattoo reminds me of? That poor feline in the Pepe Le Pew cartoons who accidentally got a white stripe painted down her back, then had to spend the whole episode running away from Pepe. I'm probably dating myself talking about Pepe Le Pew...
I don't have any pictures of my tattoo. Maybe some night when I've had a jumbo margarita or 2 (see my avatar) I'll have someone take a picture for me. So don't unsubscribe from this thread! LOL
We need to know how they turn out! Post some pictures!!
Getting my first tattoo was so exciting- me and two girlfriends went and got them done at the same time! I have two- my first one was a butterfly on my ankle and the second one is a flower on my toe- which my Very Good Friend has a matching one on her toe too! My EX H (no D sorry...) didn't talk to me for 3 days after I got my first one because he didn't like tatoos. But I didn't get it for him- I got it for me. Obviously I still have and LOVE my tattoos but I cannot say the same for him! LOL! ;)
I MUST agree 100%!!! VERY ADDICTING I have 5 myself and intend to get ATLEAST 1 more myself. So far I have a Butterfly on my R shoulder,
A Dolphin on my R calf, a tribal across my whole lower back(one side to the other)a heart w/a rose through it on my R Breast and I have Tinkerbell on my Bikini line. NO pain here! I never did understand why ppl were always so scared. I guess you just have to have some kinda tolerence for pain.....
Looking fwd to your pic!!!

Let's see, I have a dragonfly on my hip and another dragonfly (sensing a theme?) on the top of my foot.
As far as pain goes, the one on my hip was no big deal, but the one on the foot didn't feel very good. The fact that I have tiny, bony feet probably didn't help. DH has a large one on his calf that he said didn't hurt at all and he has one about 12 inches tall, 6-8 inches wide across his ribs, under the arm. He said that one did hurt pretty badly. I suppose it may depend on which area and how much "cushion" you have there. ;)

A friend of mine has a dragonfly on her thigh (right in the middle in front, so easy to show to people if you're weighing shorts or a skirt, but not visible on a daily basis). It's her favorite insect.
I have a little orange kitty on its back tattooed where nobody sees it. I got the idea from a page in an old coloring book and had the tattoo guy put it on (a friend's brother-in-law came to my house and did it while I watched TV). It didn't hurt at all (I was out that night, with a bandage of course, cause they DO BLEED), but he told me it depends on not just the location but the size (mine is only about 1 inch square. I want another one, but now I am old and married...
I want a butterfly tattoo, but DH is so opposed to me getting one. I would have where it wouldn't be seen but I know it's there. It would be in memory of my Mom who passed away Jan. 8, 1998 at age 62, way to early. Every special occasion we have a butterfly always shows up, so we know she's with us.

I like them personally, however it is on my shoulder/back area so if I want it to be seen it is and I can also cover it up too- that's the way I like it... Next summer will be fun though! =)

Why are you keeping these girls in suspense? Where are your pictures? Do I need to post the one you sent me!?
It is beautiful girls - just very pretty.
She tried to convince me to go w/her, but DH (not dear in this instance...) wasn't ready to give me the OK for another one! Well, just wait. When I get my next one, now that I know he thinks I should limit myslef - it's gonna be a doosie! And the one on my shoulder (in my avatar) is no little one! My next one will be a butterfly/tribal design on my lower back - from one side to the other and pretty tall, too! It's a picked and I'm just waiting for the OK!

Great! and good for you for being so brave, after I got my first tattoo, I said it hurt too much to ever do that again, but then I started stamping, and seen all of these great butterflys and dragon flys and I will be getting another one, with my kids names in it!!

Very beautiful- they did a great job on all of the coloring! You were very brave to get one so large! Both of mine are small (the largest one is the size of a quarter) but the one on my toe hurt a lot. It has taken me several years to forget how much that hurt......but my memory is fading so maybe it's time for a new tat!!
Laura, your tats are very pretty! They did a great job on the coloring! Granny is right though, they are addicting.
I got my first two when I was 30 and then I got another one last year when I was 40. I have one on the outer right ankle, and one behind each shoulder. The ankle one hurt a whole lot, but even though that was my first one, it didn't keep me from getting the rest.
Dawn--I love yours also! The colors are fabulous!
