Girls, I just got an email from a MSGT Swinson over in Iraq!!!!!!!!! Read on and consider yourselves heros, you have all made a big difference over there!!!!! Thanks so much!
Dear Keri:
Just a short note to let you know your wonderful cards have been received at
Balad Airbase, Iraq. Please thank everyone involved in this project for
their thoughtfulness and support. We are in the process of distributing
some of the cards to our troops in the 332d Expeditionary Logistics
Readiness Squadron/Aerial Port Flight. Their are 67 Airmen in this flight.
The remainder will be donated to the base chapel for distribution throughout
the base, which has a population of 19,000 soldiers and Airmen.
Again, thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness. The care taken in
making these beautiful cards is clearly evident.
Respectfully,
Chris Swinson

I will be sending them at a regular basis. We just sent the second batch....bring our total to 851 in just over six weeks!!! WOO HOO and now that we know how it all really works and that they are getting them and loving them I am thrilled!!!! TOTALLY AWESOME.
Keri, this is wonderful! I have tears in my eyes just thinking of these men and women who must miss their loved ones so much, and would do anything just to be near them again.
I've been meaning to start stamping some cards to send to you and now I will definitely get started... a wondeful cause in deed!
and congrats on your new little bundle of joy. You are a hero to be organizing all of this- Thank you!

I also meant to say:
19,000 soldiers in that area alone! Wow! I know you said this is an on-going effort, but it would be great to think of that number as our goal = 19,000 cards. I know it's a lot but we can do it! I think I read that Cambia (or maybe Joleenie) has a personal goal of 1,000 cards.... Let's do it :!:
STAMPERS UNITE! WE CAN DO IT !! Thanks for keeping the tally going Keri! You'll see my package soon

I was wondering if you were still doing this - since I just joined this wonderful group of stampers! I will be working on my package of cards and sending them soon! I have been looking for something like this for over a year and now I have found two great things! A great group of stampers and a way to show my pride for our brave men and women serving our GREAT nation! Thanks for all your hard work Keri!
I would love to get involved with this very thoughtful cards for our troops. Can you send me some information on it. What type are you looking for? etc.

Sounds great! I know they appreciate it. Being former military and now a dependent living overseas I know these cards just brighten their days. I think I'll have to start making some cards!

Keri,
Thank you for helping all of us do something so valuable. Even though I felt my little contribution was exactly that, little, you are getting everything together and it's huge. THANK YOU - and hugs and kisses to Elliot and Cole for sharing their wonderful mother.
Great job Keri!!! My neighbor's husband is over there and he sent us a list of names of people that are not receiving mail so we have divided them up and several people here have "adopted" them and are sending carepackages, etc. I, of course, am also sending stamped cards and I know my friend Janelle is. I love doing it!! I will try to make a few extras to send your way as well!
Keri -
At my open house this weekend, one of my stations for my customers will be to make cards for this purpose. I plan to add this to each of my stamp camps through-out the entire year as well. So, you can look to receive a package from me each month. I'm excited about contributing to this great project. I think my customers will be too.

dostamping--I love the idea of adding a card at your stamp camps to send to the troops. I'll be CASing the idea from now on. WOW!! I can't wait to send my first batch.
Keri, first congratulations on your new bundle of love.
Second, this project you have started is awesome. I have a nephew who is 22 and newly married who is over in Iraq for the second time. I can't tell you how much mail means to the soldiers over there. As my nephew put it one day in an email "it's what keeps me going". I know he isn't the only one who feels that way. Thank you so much for your hard work on this project, I know the soldiers appreciate it more than you will ever know.

Keri, Thanks so much for posting this letter....it is a terrific feeling knowing that we are making a difference.
I also wanted you to know that my demo has a huge stack of card fronts that she is giving to me next week. I am going to attach them to white cards, add an envelope and put them in a ziploc bag for you to send over to the troops. I have seen a few postings on SCS from women who want to get rid of their old card fronts and don't know what to do with them. So I just wanted to get this idea out there, so that we can help you make this project even more successful. So what do you think ladies, can we do this for our troops???
Thanks for all your hard work on this very worthwhile project....you are an angel!
Keri, this is truly a blessing, one to have you in our lives to handle this task (not an easy one I am sure) and to know that so many of our military will receive these wonderful cards. You are just as much a hero as those who serve our country in other parts of the world. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, and God bless you for the work you are doing. And thank you so much for sharing this wonderful letter. I am truly blessed by seeing just how much it touches their lives.

Dawn - what a great idea!!!! I'm going to see if I can schedule something! I sent care packages to my cousin with he was in afghanistan last summer - the sidewalk chalks were a big hit - they used them to decorate their tent doors- otherwise everyone's door is the same! if anyone needs suggestions for what to put in a care package, pm me - I have a couple websites that I caan give you.
What a great idea. I'm fairly new to this site and I just printed out the word document so I can make some cards. I'm so excited about being a part of this.
Everyone here on this site is just too cool. Someone, Joy, helped me yesterday to resize my picture so I could scare, oops I mean share with all of you.
