Last night our Women's Ministry made cards for deployed US Soldiers. What a fun time we had together and what a great cause.
Please consider sending some cards and best wishes to our soldiers.
Drop off your cards at your local Red Cross office - they will make sure that they are sent off. No postage is necessary, and do not seal envelopes. It is sad to say, but my local rep said that unfortunately some have used this as an opportunity for negativity and hatred to our soldiers in harms way, so they are quickly checked.
I am going to have my Sunday School kids make some also.
Now is the perfect time to do this so that the cards can get into the hands of soldiers in time for Christmas. The Red Cross would like to have a Christmas card in the hand of every soldier.
You can also look at OWH-Operation Write Home-they are done for taking holiday cards but they want Birthday, Thinking of You, etc...and take cards all year. Check em out!
