i have asked at several locations and always ben told no by HL, JoAnn's and Michael's do take them as long as you are buying a product that the competitor does carry.
I worked at HL ages ago and it really just depends on the store manager. Our manager(s) were always really flexible with any issue. I think they just wanted to keep people happy. So, if you find a nice manager, you may get to use your coupon. Unless it's something they don't normally discount I guess. Like Cricut, etc.

I shopped there yesterday for the 1st time. They wouldn't take any other coupons, and would only take 1, the cashier wouldn't even let me have her ring up a separate order. I thought their prices were very high, and of course nothing I wanted was on sale! The store is very far from me so I'll only go back when they are having a great sale on stuff I want.
Hobby Lobby is the best, so much less expensive than their competitors. My HL is very nice and always lets me use one coupon for me and one for my Mom. They also have such great sales often I don't even need to use a coupon.
