Wink Guess What My DH did for my BD?

My DH is not one to really go out and buy me flowers or a gift or a card or really put much thought into a gift for me for my birthday. He really didn't grow up with parents that showed alot of affection or gift giving. So it's not entirely his fault, but I have been trying to change it for 24 years now.... and this year it stuck!

This year he asked and I told him. I didn't think in a million years he would get it for me, but he did and it came a day late, but in all fairness, we were out of town for the weekend and my birthday was just on Sunday, the 8th.

I got a Cricut!!!!!!

Good for you! Glad the training has finally worked...now if I can only get "mine" to pick up his socks...16 years and counting! (Only 8 more to go!) LOL!!!!
Happy Birthday to you too! Hope it was a great one! (I'm sure it was if you are playing with your Cricut!)

Kimberli, I give this advice to all young couples starting out.....or they'd be picking everything up after DH, the kids and the animals.....Don't pick up after them!!!!

Tell him that if he doesn't put his dirty clothes in the hamper or laundry room, they don't get washed!
My DH didn't believe I wouldn't pick them up and not wash them until he saw they sitting right in front of the hamper where he threw them and all my clothes were clean and his weren't.

I made the mistake of making his lunch for 20 years and sending him off to work...now he goes to work at 5am and I want nothing to do with time of day! So I roll over, tell him to have a nice day and don't forget to pack some fruit! and I go back to sleep.

I am having so much fun with my new toy too! It's been a few years since I've had a new toy and not had to share it with anyone! Housework has taken a back seat to fun these days! If it doesn't get cleaned today...there's always tomorrow.

Congrats on the Cricut and 24 years! Happy B-Day too! I can't complain, if we had the extra $$ and I asked DH for something that expensive he would get it for me. Now in 14 and a half years and the kiddos are all grown and out we probably can afford it! Married 9 and a half now! Image what type of machine they will have out in 14 years....

Isn't it funny how sometimes the most "unromantic" gifts are the best? The best present my dh ever got me was a garage door opener for Valentines!

As far as birthday presents, after 28 years he tells me "go get what you want".

PS Pam - when the kiddos are all grown, you still won't be able to afford it - its grandkids then and you will be much more broke !!

That is great. Enjoy your new toy.

The only problem is, your telling me I have another 9 years before my DH figures out the present issue. LOL

Thanks for sharing.
