Michaels has cricut carts for 9.97....got wild west, stand and salute,jubilee,sweethearts..there will a few others, but had those already. They also have the gypsy for $49.00....i bought it but not sure if I should keep it, dont know what its for or how to use it, but seemed like a good deal.
The Michaels near me never has cartridges when there are these great sales on cartridges. One time I got to the store just a few minutes after they opened and they claimed they were sold out already. What? Did they only have 3 cartridges on sale total? I couldn't even find where they had been. How can a store have a sale and be completely sold out in 10 minutes? It wasn't even a black Friday sale.
I got Sweethearts, From my kitchen, Paisley & Pagoda. Not use I will use all of them but couldn't pass them up at that price. Might be a good time to look on Ebay for these with everyone selling them. One store here is already out & the other just has Pagoda & Paisley. I really wanted Stand and Salute. Darn.
Check your M's, mine has Pagoda for $14.99, and ours NEVER has anything on sale, they have Tinkerbell, Wild West, a few fonts and a couple of the classmates, Wild Card, Paisley, and Paper Doll Dress UP all in the clearance bin. I am trying to decide if I NEED Locker Talk since I just got 7 carts from Santa.
i did all we had left at 930 was hello kitty and paisley

I caved and got Mini Monograms and Locker Talk and am debating going back for Hello Kitty Greetings and Cars, though the pieces on the Cars one are probably really tiny
There was still quite a bit left at my store. They restocked from last night and added more. I would have loved to get Hello Kitty Fonts, Cars and Mickey Mouse. I got Cuttin' Up, From my Kitchen, Hello Kitty and Winter Woodland.
They were out of jukeboxes and gypsys.
One store I was at last night had tons of gypsys left. I did not see any hello kitty or mickey. I did see cars. I bought tinkerbell today. I also bought sweet treats and wild cards. I went to 3 michaels, one last night and 2 today.

The advertisement I looked at said that the sale started tomorrow (Sunday)... so I planned on going first thing tomorrow, I will be mad if the started the sale prices early and are already sold out by the time I get there. If I knew they were going to start selling at that price I would have gone today.
Went to Michael's this afternoon to find out the store is closing. All carts were 50% off as is everything in the store. The $10 carts were $5. Needless to say there was not a cart in sight.

After seeing this post about the cartridges, I got in my car and off to Michaels I went. I ended up getting 3. I had 4 cards in hand when I went to the register, but they didn't have one of them. I got Sweettalk(?), Stand and Salute, the one with the child sillouettes(sp). The one they did not have anymore was from my kitchen( I relly wanted that one). They also had no more Jukeboxes left:(.

Unfortunately, this tends to be the mode of operations with a lot of the Michaels stores. You would think that each store would follow the same policies and procedures sent down from corporate but that's not the case and hasn't been the case for quite some time. I've gotten ads early and have seen that the stores started the advertised sales before the actual start date before. One store will have one coupon policy and numerous other stores will have policies totally different and none are just alike. I had planned on boycotting Michaels eventhough they're the only store in my area that has much of what they carry, but my DH and kids gave me a sizeable gift card for my birthday that I can't see wasting. So, a few new restocking purchases to use up their gift then I'm done. It's not worth all the headaches anymore.
I'm planing on being at Michaels at 10:00 when they open because thats when their ad starts. I know that I'm just setting myself up since Michaels is great at disapointing. But I have to try since I can't pass up a sale like this.
It really confused me that they had the cartridges out early in one store and not the other one. They are not that far from each other. I was also shocked when I went to print a coupon on Wednesday and the ad that starts 1/9 was the only one up on the website. I am thinking about checking the store that didn't have them out, but I am pretty sure DH would not be happy if I brought anymore home. :-(
i'm going to HL on monday morning and have them pricematch, lol...got the add from the paper and the baby in the stroller to mow ppl over, hahaha...WATCH OUT FOLKS!!! :P

I went to our local store this morning and there was nothing. I asked the manager about it and he immediately apologized for their not being anymore. He said that he didn't like it that they were in the ad like they were because they had been marking them down and had some at that price point already and then wham! in the paper and he only had 15 left this morning when the store opened and there was 8 people at the door waiting, specifically for the cartridges.

Got to the store at 10:06 this morning (just 1 other shopper in the store), and, of course, no Gypsy (what I really wanted) and only 3 carts that I didn't want. Sigh. :(
I went yesterday with a friend...she got 4, the patriotic one, and a few others, which I can't remember, because I don't have a cricut. She pd $9.97 for them as well. She was 1 happy camper!!
Why are they getting rid of all of the old cricut cartridges, gypsy, etc? I only bought one called Jasmine today.
I read somewhere that they were just clearing it out for new products. I guess the cartridges were the ones released between 2007-2009. Not sure about the rest of the stuff.
When you go to Michael's and Joanns ALWAYS check the cages they keep the carts in as well as the hang tags because they don't always match up. Sometimes they won't have the hang tag but they will have the cart in the cage. My Mike's started putting their carts way up high on the wall above the cage and it won't even be in the cage. It's so frustrating when you hunt around for the ones you want. Provo releases new carts every month so they sell off the older stuff to make room for the newer ones. HTH
I can say that when our store opened up on Saturday morning (the sale in Canada starts on Saturday. In the US the sales start on Sunday) there was a line-up at the door... and they all headed to the Cricut Cartridges.
Every cartridge that was clearing out was removed from the cages and office and put onto one rack. Within 1/2 an hour everything was gone, but one style of cartridge (it was a font cartridge and we had loads of them).
Yes - some stores had more available than others because they had been marking them down for a while - but considering the store I am at had in excess of 70 cartridges, if you weren't there by 9:30, you weren't going to have any luck.
Hopefully it provides some insight to why they went so fast.
I went yesterday around noon to see if there were any left. There was just a sign saying that due to overwhelming demand, all of the cartridges were gone and they would not be getting any more. I wasn't disappointed because I didn't really expect to get any, though it would have been nice since I only have a few cartridges.

Did HL price match these?
Just wondering if they would or not, since this seems like it was a clearance item.
I got to my nearest Michaels before they opened on the day the ad came out. I was the first one in the store and I asked where the cartridges were and was told they were sold out. I knew of course this would be the case but I couldn't help but being angry about it. I went to another Michaels and they didn't have any either.
I get so fed up with Michaels never having what they say they have. In the past I've called Michaels before going to buy something and when I get there; mysteriously they don't have it.
I have no desire to even try to shop at Michaels ever again.
A friend of mine got a couple of cartridges at Joann's using the Michaels ad. I didn't know you could do that so I missed out on Joann's too.
