I was going to visit the Phoenix area next month and found out that the Craft Retreat Scrapbook Store in Glendale has just closed. I liked their cute stamp selection. Gonna miss them. Not very many scrapbook and stamp stores left to visit anymore. :(
Try Scrapbooks, Etc. on University in Mesa......open M-Sat, 10-7. They carry great paper, bling, ribbon and hard to find items...nice staff as well. Have lunch at the Bread Basket next door. The Scrapbook Barn is just down the road as well. If you're in the Tucson area, you probably know about that great LSS in Green Valley. Have a nice trip!
:(You know its getting really sad the lack of brick and mortar scrapbooking places. I mean Michaels, Joanns and Hobby lobby are fine and between the three of them I can usually find what I'm looking for, but I wish there were more designated scrapbook stores. It makes me sad. Here in the Denver Metro area, there isn't hardly any except for the above mentioned. We had 3 Archivers, prices were a bit higher but by the time paid postage was paid on online ordering, it was about the same so I would go to any that I was near to get something I couldn't find at the others. Now they are gone too. All the charming shops are disappearing.:(

I like Scrapbook Etc, they are very friendly. They used to have a lot of scrapbook stuff, but now half of the store has fabric, which is ok I like to look at that too.
I am going to visit Craftfusion on Alma School and Frenzy Stamper in Scottsdale during my visit.
I will also be visiting the west side of Phoenix. I think there are only three shops left. Not so many anymore. :(
Yes, the loss of stores is really sad. In San Antonio,Texas we had six stores. They have all closed. It is now Hobby Lobby and Michael's. We must support our small businesses so they may afford to compete with the big giants.
I hope Stamp Antonio is not closed; I went there when visiting SA in 2012.
We all have to support the local small businesses (of all types) or they will disappear. Most stores will special order items available on the Internet; it's definitely worth asking so we can help them stay in business, and as someone else pointed out, we save shipping costs.
There is also another scrapbook store in the Phoenix area over in the West Valley. the Paper Collageis in Sun City West. It's the newest store to open. We have one over in Green Valley, Arizona Scrapbooking Store that I love visiting. Not so many left tho. :(
I love the LSS in Green Valley but I only get down there a couple of times a year when I visit friends there. I have found some really unique papers and hard-to-find bling. I have also attended a couple of card making classes there and had a great time. If I lived in Tucson near the Interstate, that would be my go to place.
problem there is the hours only open 3 days week and only 1/2 of those hours. been trying to get a chance to go visit them but there hours of operations is crazy!!!!!!!
