Ok, if you've been on the fence or in a cave for that matter, and you're looking to get a 'big' set of those puppies (or a whole bunch of other stuff) ~ http://www.dickblick.com/
is having 20% off orders of $150 or more (plus if after the discount you have $200 you also get free FedEx shipping).
I was told by their CS that this is one of their best 'specials' (now other DB customers might know better than I whether or not that's true)
But an example of costs: set of 72 sketch markers is $239.91 (which is about 3.33 per marker ~ hopefully not too bad ~ cause that what I just paid) and last I looked they had them in stock!
* I think this is a 'good' deal ~ someone correct me if I am wrong ~ I'll go cry in the corner if I am... *

that's a great deal! i ordered some from eclectic papiere for $4.99 each but I ordered on MAY 19 and they are just processing my order today! I won't order from there again....
Oops! I forgot to say that it is just for today. But the CS lady said that sale comes up every so often ~ so worth a checksie if your going to order anyway...
Oh, the crying would be more for sharing this with everyone here... So if it isn't a good deal ~ please share so no one else goofs & orders when they could do better somewhere else...

Oh, gosh - I caved! I opted to get the individual ones that came out to $3.74 each. I debated and debated, but it seemed that the 72 sets had too many colors I might not be using right away and I couldn't afford to get more than 1 set. So I picked out 48 - many of them the light and skin tone colors that everyone seems to recommend. Then I got the rest of my prismacolors that I needed to update my very old 120 set to have all the colors now to bring me up to the $200 free shipping deal.
Am I wrong? Should I have just gotten one of the 72 marker sets and saved the .41 per marker?
Oh, it is not wise to second guess yourself! Be Happy! I try to live by that! I forgot about the prismas ~ too bad my order has already shipped ~ I'll just have to continue to save (& busy myself with my new toys...)

That's a fabulous price, the best around, Unfortunately I can't use them as they charge way too much for postage to Australia. My last quote was $260.00US postage for $300.00US order of Prismacolor pencils. So I got my Aunt to receive them for me in LA and then post them at the post office way less expensive!

I wanna come over and play!! No fair...I've continued to resist though...sigh...I will be strong...sigh!
Atleast with all of those colors you won't have the trouble of blending and layering a couple of colors to achieve "the look" we all desire. Congrats on your new toys!!

Oh, you're on to my evil plot ~ to tempt all my old stampin buddies to take the 3 hour trip to 'play' with my new toys!!! Bwah, ha, ha, ha:twisted:
And of course it'll be years before I can achieve "the look" (well, ok, may as well fess up ~ I'll never get that look ~ but I intend to have fun trying!!!;)
oh no! I can't believe I missed this :( - I am right and presuming this was for yesterday only?
Yes, I'm sorry! But the CS lady said she thought it comes up at least once a month. SO if you're interested & can wait ~ maybe you should check first thing each day (until something better comes up ~ I'd be tempted to think there'll be some nice July 4 sales...)
I was just about to order from electic paperie because they have all the colors I want in stock but if they take a month...hmm..
Who else has a good selection of ciao and some sketch?
I know that some of the back log on Copics from eP has been due to waiting on product from the supplier. I have always had very good service when ordering from them. You could always email them and ask what the shipping time would be: (joy at eclecticpaperie dot com).
They are a joy to work with ;) and they try really hard to keep cool stuff for stampers in stock. Sometimes the issue is that we all enable each other so well!

Patiently hoping!
And hoping if I bump this and someone else sees the sale they will post it here!
Well, I have to say that Ellen Hutson may not sell her sketch copics at Dick Blick's sale price, but Ellen's prices are as good as anywhere else, and the SERVICE is beyond excellent!! I live in Canada, admittedly close to wear Ellen Hutson mails her copics from in the US.. and unbelieveable as it may seem... I rec'd one shipment within 3 days of placing the order!! Yes, that is correct - they passed got across the border that quickly!!
I have also had the good fortune of having an art store in my city where they carry EVERY SINGLE colour of the sketch markers and they let you try out the markers . I have purchased many of my copics from my local art store.. but they are about 1.30 more than Ellen Hutson's store - plus I have to pay 13% tax on them - no duty or tax for me on my orders from Ellen so far.. and I am on my third shipment!!
Debzi, I am interested that you never have to pay duty etc on your Copics. I won a bid on Ebay last night for the set of 36 Ciao and I thought maybe I will have to pay duty when they arrive. Your post is encouraging.
I have to stay off Ebay................I am just getting into this and all I seem to do is spend money. :o
I ordered some Copics from Ellen last week and I am waiting to get them. I have gone to Dick Blicks site and the prices are really great but they don't take PayPal unless you live in the US and I will only use PayPal online. I have been really lucky so far with most of my orders from the States that I havn't had to pay duty and the couple of times that I have been charged duty it was less than $10 which isn't to bad.
Thanks Jackie, that's great news. The Copics are coming from Taiwan and the seller tells me he has not had anyone pay duty on his stuff which is mostly shoes!! Don't know how he came by the Copics!
We do Paypal all the time but we have a CC that is in US dollars so maybe that makes a difference?
I order Sketch markers from Dick Blick when they have a special on... I ordered twice, both times around 30 markers. Shipping was $18, markers worked out to $3.48 if I remember correctly, and there was no duty (so far, knock on wood). As for Ciao markers, I ordered them from Curry's. They have order minimums in place, but if you order $100 or more, you get free shipping. The problem is (or good thing, I am not sure), they don't update their stock online, so you don't know what you're getting. I ordered once about 35 Ciaos, they had only about 10 available, but they still honoured free shipping policy as my original order was over $100. I hope this helps some of you...
Happyinker, are your markers all Ciao? I think I got a deal at $70 + $14 shipping for 36. Of course, I haven't got them yet!! I am just a beginner and I read that these are the best way to start.
Hope your husband has recovered from his accident and surgery. Not fun.

PS. Your cards are really lovely.
No, the ones purchased from Dick Blick are Sketch. Only the ones from Curry's (they are Canadians, by the way) are Ciaos. They are $3.49 (Canadian dollars). You definitely got a really good deal. My problem is that I already have many of the ones that are in the sets, so I have to stay away from the sets and buy singles. Where did you get them?
Thanks for your kind wishes, he will be fine. He got out of VGH today, and is already looking at the spare parts for his Harley. Although he will be in a cast for 6-8 weeks. At least I know he won't be riding soon...
By the way, where about n Vancouver are you?
(Thanks for your compliment, I am just starting to have fun and learn things, but it makes me happy).

I got them on Ebay where I spend way too much time and money!!!! We have most of the stuff shipped to our mailbox in Blaine but the Copics are coming to our home which is in Burnaby.
Which Clipper Street do you go to? I have just discovered them and I go to the Coquitlam one. I'm going to take my first course (scrapbooking) there in a few weeks. Thinking of taking a card making one too.

I too have been surprised that I have not had to pay duty!! Some of my copic orders have been for $100.00. Sometimes the border people( not for my copics for some reason ) will decide to charge you GST and PST - and then the posties also collect an extra 5.00 for collecting the GST and PST from you!!;) I don't think I've actually had to pay duty EVER.. Maybe it's the new free trade agreement??? IF you pay anything, it's just the GST and your provincial salestax - plus the Canada Post's 5.00 bucks.. Nothing big - and that is maybe one out of 60 shipments that I receive..

Thanks for that info.. I thought Dick Blick used an expensive method of shipping - great to have that info! Thanks!

Clipper Street - I mostly go to the one in Langley (that's the biggest one). They are all ways from me, as I am in Kitsilano in Vancouver, so might as well go to the biggest one. I've been to Richmond one, it is smaller... I've never been to Coquitlam one. People working in Clipper are just amazing.
That was a really good deal for your Copics... Enjoy them. I'll see you on your blog...

Shipping is really not that high. It is still a lot cheeper than purchasing Copics around here. Also, the only stores I found carrying Copics in Vancouver, carry Originals, not Sketch or Ciaos. And they are something ridiculous, around $6.50 a piece. Plus, colour selection is very poor. I am happy with my Dick Blick purchases.
