Help Wanted! Cards wanted for silent auction!
On November 19, the not for profit group I am affiliated with is having a benefit - we are calling it "Playlot Palooza"!... The group is a 501c3 organization that is trying to rebuild a playlot in a southside neighborhood of Chicago.
The neighborhood is where I live and raise my kids. Because, we are a neighborhood of city workers and other blue collar workers and not inner city "at risk" individuals... we must raise the funds for the new playlot ourselves.
The park, Mt Greenwood Park, is one of the few parks in the Chicago Park District system that offers a therapeutic recreation program - complete with summer camps and special olympic offerings. The existing playlot is worn down and unsafe and can not meet the needs of the community.
The new park we envision will have a rubberized surface and equipment in which children of all abilities can play together - no longer will wheel chairs get bogged down in the wood chips.
I am looking for card of all types for all occasions - I will bundle the cards received and put the in a decorated tin with dividers - if I receive a bunch of cards I will make more tins.... the tins filled with hand made cards will be offered at the silent auction at the November 19th Playlot Palooza Benefit. Remember - this is a 501c3 organization and if you want to make a donation to receive full tax credit - please contact me and I can accommodate your request....
