Default Calling all Houston, TX area SU! Demonstrators

Hello,

I looking to start a demonstrator support group(s) for Houston area Demonstrators.

My upline (in Seattle) belongs to a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who get together once a month for swaps and share to ideas about increasing sales, workshops, recruiting, etc. They also pool their resources quarterly and host huge stamp camps, hostess appreciation night and potential recruiting parties.

Would be interested in a group like that? I think it would be a great opportunity to meet other demonstrators, share ideas, and have fun. Please reply to [email protected]

Sincerely,

Delainie Aguilar

I don't know any Aguilar's in the Baytown area. My grandfather is from a border town in Mexico. He and my grandmother lived in the valley for a while before settling in MI. I have tried to do some genealogy but never find much info on Aguilar's. There is the language barrier too since I am not fluent in Spanish. My dad grew up in TX during the time when he would get in trouble for speaking Spanish in school. He didn't want his kids to get hassled so, sadly, he didn't speak Spanish to us. It would be fun to do some genealogy comparisons with you though.

That would be cool!! My in laws speak both Spanish and English well(they speak Spanish in front of me if they don't want me to know what they are saying but I have been in the family for too long and I never lead on that I know what they are talking about) but my husband only knows like his numbers and a few other words. My mother in law hates me and even asks my husband from time to time why he could not marry a nice hispanic girl instead of a white one. As you can tell we DO NOT get along at all. His dad I love and his brother but as far as his sister and mother we just don't see eye to eye.

Stormy,

I don't know if that is a Mexican thing or a mom/sister thing. My grandmother would always be thrilled if I was dating a Mexican boy and not say much when I was dating a white boy. I was married before (to a white guy) and his mom and sister did not like me (maybe b/c I was Mexican). We were together for 8 years and when were fighting in the last days before our divorce he had the nerve to say to me, "I can't belive this-my mom was just starting to like you." Pa-lease!!! Anyway my husband now is also white but his step family is Mexican and he speaks better Spanish than I do. My grandmother really likes him. My parents liked my first husband better. Guess you just can't win!
