I found a set of 12 Paradise Pastels at Big Lots for just $4. There are alot of duplicates (9 to be exact) from my set of 24 that came in a great case. They are great colors for Easter/spring.
Those of us who would like Copics but stamping/crafting budget doesn't stretch that far are using the Bic Mark-it markers instead. These aren't pastels as in paints, but pastel colors of markers. Hope that helps!
I was at a Big Lots store in PA today. They had over 2 dozen sets. Talked to a girl working that aisle and she said these markers just came in this week and she only put them out yesterday. So, if you missed them at your Big Lots store, you may want to check back to see if they came in yet.
I would love some truly pastel colors, but my set of 36 color much darker than the cap would lend you to believe. I was hoping for some actual pastels, but if I really take the plunge into markers I might have to buy Prismacolor or Copic for lighter colors.

I use the Bic Mark-it's also, and I agree...... they come out much darker than the cap color. So, I've ordered a few more Prismacolor markers from Dick Blick...the shades I would need for skin tones and pale blenders.

I bought a 36 set at Target and agree...great colors but needed some lighter shades for blending. I went online and bought 10 very pale copics (under $60 for all including shipping) and now I feel I'm set. They blend beautifully together and give me the results I need.

I picked a set of the pastels up a couple weeks ago...having a great time with them. I stopped in at my local Staples today for a toner cartridge and they have a promotional pack of Bic Mark-its on sale for $5. It's actually two 12-pc packs strapped together. They are the primary/bright colors. So, I decided to pick on up and share the other pack with my mom.
