its called Amazin Savings. Theres one on Ave M and East 16 (right across the street from the Q train), and one on Ave I and McDonald Ave (off the F train). Theres also one in Willamsburgh, but I dont know the location.
I'm talking Jolees for $1 or less, some Disney.... blank trifold K&Co cards, with envies, 20 for $1.99, the Fiskars cartridge punch set for $7 (Mikes has it for over $20)...
i suggust going often if you can, as they change up supplies regularly. They are closed very early on Friday and all day Saturday, as they observe the Sabbath. On Thursdays they're open till 8, which is their late day.

I've been going to the one in NJ for years. They went through a bankruptcy and a change of ownership a couple of years ago and closed a bunch of stores, but they are a very small chain in NY and NJ. Happy shopping!! Besides craft stuff, I've gotten great kids toys there too!

LOL i remember when it was the Avenue I Flea Market, shopping there. Amazin Savings recently (past 5 years or so) got a real scrapbook aisle.... but they always had great stuff LOL
There's one on the way home from my office here in northern NJ and another near an excellent diner that I stop in at. I've never been but I might now have to check it out. thanks for the tip!

Hi, I live in Staten Island and I used to make special trips to Brooklyn to visit Amazing Savings just for the scrapbook isle (that is when i found out they were going through bankruptcy proceedings and I was experiencing withdrawals). Great buys there when you can find some new items. Unfortunately, I found that there weren't too many new items coming in to justify the trip. Do you belong to a stamp group? That might make me cross the bridge
Also, there's a great little scrapbook/stamp/craft store not far from A.S. called Craftique. When i traveled in, i would make a stop there. It's pricier than A.S., but they had a lot of hard to find items and the shop owner is super nice.
The website indicates that there are classes, although I've never taken one. I am trying to meet other stampers near me, so that I can form a stamp group to meet and stamp together once a month or something like that (not a demo/sales enterprise as I've seen... would rather save my $20-40 for stamps and supplies that I really want KWIM?)
Anyways, if you are looking for a stamping buddy in the area-- hi
